Baby Girl Trish On April 29th, 1987, I was born into this wonderful world. I lived at Morne Du Don (which is of the capital, Castries) for sixteen years, and later moved to Bois D’ Orange which is in the north of the island. I also lived out of the island for some period of time. I first attended the Morne Du Don Primary, and later moved on the Leon Hess Comprehensive, where I studied, Integrated Science, French, Principles Of Business, Typing, Mathematics and English. I started singing form the age of 8 years, but I was the shy type, so I wouldn’t participate in any extra curricular activities as such. I would love a song from Barrington Levy or Coolio on a morning, and that would just fill up my soul. From then on, my passion for music grew beyond control. I started relating to music a lot more as I grew older, and I also started writing my own songs. I started getting deeper and more soulful into my music at the age of 12 years upon entering high-school. I was then introduced to the “Big Man†himself, Nigel “Ratty†Nicholas and he brought me into the world of studios, recording and other artists as well. My mother Patricia Baptiste, has always been my strongest supporter. I am so grateful for this angel which the lord has bestowed upon. This strong and amazing black woman raised me as a single mom, and did a marvelous job. Had it not been for her, I would have never been the caring, outgoing, and fun loving person I am today. She has been my greatest influence throughout my efforts to persue my music career. In the past I’ve worked with the popular Courtney Louis, Ninja Dan, Libo of Chronic Heights, Q-Pid, just to mention a few. At present I am currently working an putting an album together with plenty of surprises in between. My motivation is definitely my mother because she has showed me the true meaning of hard work and dedication, and good it feels to reap the benefits of that, and for that I give her all my love. My role model has been and will always be the late, great Aaliyah Dana Haughton, gone but never ever forgotten. I loved her style, simple but sexy, her voice, gentle as a mother’s touch. My goals for the future are most definitely to put St. Lucia in the eyes of the world and open a way for young aspiring St. Lucian artists to also make a statement.
