Kerwin Bowers a.k.a Private 6 has had a passion for music from childhood, the Trinidadian born music enthusiast who moved to St lucia at the tender age of two, always had his eyes set on the music scene. In 2001 while at the Babonneau secondary School his obsession with the art of music would clearly show. kerwin would always be caught freestyling, pulling big crowds especially during lunch time break. In 2004 a number of Caribbean artistes inspired the soca singer to try ragga soca which is a mixture of two cultures and Kerwin confessed that he got hooked to it. From then on in 2005, Private 6 released his first ragga soca single called Wining Pro which was on rotation on some of St Lucia's leading radio stations. Private 6 moreover, joined the NG Soca Stage at 16; he was the only member who was attending school. Right now Kerwin is working with Slaughter Arts records whivh produced the Raa Rah Riddim, Soca Survivor Riddim and the Bluetooth Riddim. Private Six points out that persons have compared his music to 3 Suns, Bunji Garlin, Daug E Slaughter and Kmc, an a comparison he he believes is quit complimentary. In 2007 Kerwin stamped his name at the Party Monach Finals with the mega hit Calina. Private 6 looks to take Soca music and ST lucia to another level in a few years. Private 6 points out that when he first came on the soca scene individuals tried to discourage him because they felt that he would not be able to fit an further pointed out his age an style would work against him. Nonetheless his present success on the soca arena proved otherwise.
