About Me

Texas native Carleen Anderson (daughter of James Brown protege Vicki Anderson) moved to the UK in 1990 and teamed up with DJ/promoters Femi Fem and Marco Nelson to form Young Disciples.
The trio were signed to Gilles Peterson's Talkin Loud label and in 1991 released the acclaimed long player Road To Freedom.
Carleen has since embarked on a solo career.
Femi is currently part of the Strictly Left DJ collective.
Marc Nelson is a session musician who most notably played bass guitar in Paul Weller's mid 90s band. Check him out on the recent album by Zook titled The Accumulator.
Road To Freedom was recently remastered and reissued on compact disc by the Spectrum label.
