About Me

Dee C Lee was born Diane Sealey on June 6 1961 in Balham, south London. After leaving school Dee did a bit of modeling and later became backing singer for the hugely successful pop group Wham! After her time with Wham! Dee did session work for retro Jazz group Animal NightLife before finally settling down with Paul Weller's ambitious soul/funk/jazz/pop outfit The Style Council.
During her time with the Council, Dee also recorded a LP for CBS titled Shrine. Shrine spawned a Top 3 single titled See The Day in late '85.In 1991 Dee released an album titled Free Your Feelings under the name Slam Slam. The album featured tracks co-written by Weller (now her husband) and Blow Monkeys leader Robert Howard. The title track was produced by the Young Disciples.
In 1993 Dee appeared on the Guru single No Time To Play, lifted from his Jazzamatazz LP. Dee's vocals were also to be found on the single Jesse by Acid Jazz rock act Mother Earth and on the first two solo albums by Weller. A solo single titled New Reality Vibe was issued in 1994 on the Mo'Wax label.
Dee later released two additional solo long players...Things Will Be Sweeter in '95 and Smiles in 1998.
In 2002, despite being rather busy raising the two teenage children she had with Weller, Dee recorded the song Lah Dee Dah for D-Influence's D-Vas compilation.
