Bassist, touring and recording

About Me

Hi Friends,Just a quick word or two about myself ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ .........................IN A NUTSHELL.... Ive been writing, recording and performing music for many years now, my principal instrument being the bass guitar.. I also play other stringed instruments such as acoustic and electric guitars and mandolin, however, bass remains my forte. I record and perform with keyboard instruments too, although Im more of a tinkerer than a regular player. Love a Hammond and Leslie. :-)Ive played in pop bands, rock bands, blues bands, indie bands, surf bands, experimental bands, jam bands, retro bands, cover bands, rubber bands, smoking bands, total fire bands.....hmmm, sounds like a song? Between 1999 and 2003 I toured and recorded an EP (Little Carlos) and two albums (Big Grandfather and La Caravana) with iOTA. During this time, we had the pleasure of playing some great shows with The Cruel Sea, The Whitlams, Tim Finn, george, Skunkhour, Epicure, Something for Kate, Dan Brody and Endorphin to name a few. Played some great festivals too, including the Queenscliff Folk Festival (1999), Newtown Festival (1999), Homebake (1999), Glenworth Valley (1999 twice), Hemispheres (2000), The East Coast Blues And Roots Festival (2001, 2003), WOMAD (2003). Hah...what an unashamed name dropper Ive turned out to be...well maybe a little ashamed. :-) Since the early nineties I've performed, toured or recorded with Barrenjoey, Lipstick Reaction, Mona Lisa Overdrive, The Bastard Sons Of The Bishop, The Mamms, The Black Haggis, iOTA, Felicity Hunter, Sam Buckingham, Tracy Redhead, Abi Tucker, Anecko, Catbird, Of The Red Sea, Andy Clockwise, Graham Rix, Shannon Reynolds, Mitch Butler, Kevin Coco, Penny Coco, Drew Sutherland, G. Nunan, Matt Tonks & Syd Green. ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ...........................CURRENTLY... I'm working with a number of developing artists, including Shannon Reynolds, Graham Rix, Mitch Butler, Penny Coco, Drew Sutherland and G. Nunan, helping to either write, arrange or record their music, or to otherwise further develop it for live performance. I've been working with Syd Green (producer/musician), recording several of the abovementioned artists, as well as some other yet to be completed recording projects. For the past nine years Ive been playing with The Nuts every Sunday down at the Steyne Hotel in Manly... a very casual covers residency. I also slut myself around a number of other bands, doing fill-in gigs as required. I do a bit of teaching, too. ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ..............................Hmmm, BIG NUTSHELL...a coconut perhaps?Anyway, drop on in and say hi anytime.Ciao»-(¯..v..¯)-» Design your MySpace with MyLook «-(¯..v..¯)-«
