I'd rather be trippin' with the Bradys.

About Me

I was born in Poun-Eup, North Chung-Chong Province, Republic of Korea (South Korea) in the year of the Tiger (Korean calendar, not Chinese). I emigrated to the United States when I was less than a year old. According to sociologists(?), I am considered to be a member of the "1.5 generation," whatever that means. I do not, however, consider myself to be Korean or Korean-American. I consider myself to be an Asian-American, who happens to be ethnically Korean.I currently work for Cablevision Systems Corporation's Technical Support Group. I was originally placed there as a temp by an IT staffing firm, Spherion, LLC. I do not like working in the Technical Support Group, but I do like only having to work four days a week. Granted, they are four TEN-hour days (Fridays - Mondays), but it is good to have three days off.I am trying to find full-time employment closer to home, but no company is even remotely interested in hiring me on a permanent basis. The only job offers I get are either contract or temp from staffing firms. Apparently, it does not seem to matter to any direct employer that I have the CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications, and that I am a Microsoft Certified Professional (70-270, 70-299), a Cisco Certified Network Associate, a Cisco Wireless LAN Support Specialist, a Cisco Advanced Wireless LAN Field Specialist, a Cisco Firewall Specialist, and a Cisco Information Security Specialist. :(Since Windows Vista is already out now, I decided that it would be best if I became a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (2003) as soon as possible, and then I will try to get the CompTIA Security+. Afterwards, who knows? Perhaps I will get the CompTIA i-Net+, Linux+, and Server+ certifications. Maybe I will even try to become a Cisco Certified Design Associate, a Cisco Certified Network Professional, a Cisco Certified Design Professional, a Cisco IPS Specialist, and a Cisco VPN Specialist. As you most likely surmised, I am more of a Cisco person than a Microsoft one. Doesn't it suck that it is usually the Microsoft people who get the most job offers?! :(I have always approved any and all "Add Friend" requests that I have received so far. For all those who have sent me such requests, thank you so very much!!So far, I have not deleted anyone from my list of Friends, except for one. (She turned out to be a faker.) Please do not delete me. IM Me:Yahoo! Messenger ID: parkent

My Interests

Investing in penny stocks with my TD Ameritrade account, computers, science fiction, watching JediMstrKris' "My Bubble" episodes, and redheads. Fiery redheads rule!! :)

I'd like to meet:

Tylyn John , redheads, Megan Nometro , redheads, Tyler Stevens , redheads, Amanda Bittar , redheads, Alexandra Sim-Wise , redheads, Krista Allen, redheads, Anne Hathaway, redheads, Lindsay Lohan, redheads, Emmanuelle Vaugier, redheads, Robin Velez , redheads, Sandra Taylor , redheads, Brandy Ledford , redheads, Anjelea , redheads, Kristin Blanchard , redheads, and all the ladies mentioned in my "Friend Space"! Um, I did mention redheads, right? If not, also redheads.

Music:

Most of whatever is currently airing on Z100 (NYC 100.3 FM) and KC101 (CT 101.3 FM). I also like some classical, opera, and doo wop. I used to be a huge fan of Def Leppard, Guns 'N Roses, Poison, REM, The Cure, and Van Halen (either David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar).

Movies:

Anything sci-fi/fantasy, action, or comedy. Better Off Dead (1985) will always be a sentimental favorite! :) I love it when the underdogs win!!

Television:

Shows I watch or try to watch on a regular basis: " Battlestar Galactica ," " Doctor Who " (2005), and " Stargate Atlantis ". Shows I used to watch: Too many to list! :) Generally, I like to watch sci-fi/fantasy, action, and comedy.

Books:

I don't have time to read much these days, except for reviewing my old textbooks and exam preparation guides for the IT certifications that I plan to take, but I used to read a lot of sci-fi/fantasy, especially the Star Trek series.

Heroes:

The late actor/activist Christopher Reeve, people who are in inter-racial/multi-ethnic relationships, and those who have been unjustly victimized by ethnic discrimination or other social injustices. Despite my personal experiences with discrimination, racism, sexism, and other injustices, I still believe that we are all heroes to someone or somebody, whether we want to be or not, whether we should be or not.
