Band Members: Pete Hackett................ various guitars, bass, stylophone, speak and spells and a computer running reason, fruity loops and cubase, with stacks of cheap plug ins.
You may hear snippets of voices in the music, taken from dictaphones, scanners, short wave,etc.... please do not be afraid!
Sometimes i get some vocal help from my son JON.
He likes shouting into mikes!!!
Also starring Paul (tiger) Wright, and Richard (fingers) Smith.
Influences: I love bad t.v., watching sci fi and war films, sampling war films for my other project AMBIENCE COLLECTIVE, playing warhammer 40000 with "our kid" etc, etc, but most of all......
I love all manner of mad music, such as....E.L.O, Jeff Lynne, Rush, The Move, Yes, Genesis, The Dukes of Stratosphear, Deep Purple,Air, O.M.D, Nick Drake, Smith and Burchill, Pink Floyd, X.T.C, Massive Attack, The Streets, Ladytron, Bedswerver, Flaming lips, Enio Morricone,The Dead Tree band, Human League,Kraftwerk, Sisters of Mercy,Busload of Faith, Black sabbath, Large Blue Horses, Isaac Hayes,Donovan, Cat Stevens, 10 cc, Steely Dan, Mostly autumn, Scissor Sisters, Mike Oldfield, Half Man Half Biscuit, Focus, Jellyfish, Motorhead, The Mike Curb Congregation, Kate Bush, Hawkwind, The Polyphonic Spree, Jean Michel Jarre, Marillion, Catch 22, 70s Funk & Blaxploitation music all the way down to drum and bass. i like to think that somewhere along the line most off these influences rear their ugly heads but not particulary in any recognisable form!
I am sometimes influenced by what i hear around me, and have been known to samples elevators and car boot sales!
If you see that strange man in the post office with a dictaphone, pity him.
Sounds Like: A bit like a car crash involving members of - E.L.O, Genesis, Human League, Kraftwerk, Motorhead and Yes. With John Shaft and Starsky and Hutch being the first on the scene, with Beck and Air driving the ambulances!
Type of Label: None
