I think the Rachmaninov Piano Concerto 2 is probably my favorite piece of music, along with the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. I think Puccini is a master of melody that knows how to pluck the strings of the heart. Orff's Carmina Burana, Ravi Shankar's Symphony for Sitar and Orchestra, Dvorak's Cello Concerto, Glazunov's The Seasons, Tchaikovsky's Romeo & Juliet, Wagner's Tristan & Isolde, prelude to Act II, Katchaturian, Spartacus Ballet--I like romantic music, what can I say? So I listen to mostly classical music-- movie soundtracks & smooth jazz.I love Sarah Brightman--the voice of an angel; Miles Davis, Chris Botti, Mark Isham, Scott Hamilton--blues--Diana Krall, Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughn, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett-rock, Pink Floyd, U2, Chris Isaac, Bruce Springsteen,Roy Orbison and all the old classic rock stars like the Beatles, Beach Boys, etc. soothing New age music like I myself compose and produce. Favorite classical composers: Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Debussy, Dvorak, Resphighi, Carl Orff, Ravel, Rachmaninov, Rimsky-Korsakov, Saint-Saens, Charles Stanford, Edward McDowell, Wagner, Delius, Sibelius, Grieg, Arnold Bax. Movie music: John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, George Fenton, James Horner, Mark Isham, James Newman Howard.

Doestoyevsky: Crime and Punishment, Brothers Karamazov, Notes from the Underground; F.Scott Fitzgerald: This Side of Paradise, The Great Gatsby. Indian philosophy. . .The Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Mahabarta; Greek philosophy; the existentialists, Tao te ching, Lao Tse, Gramsci's Selections from Prison Notebooks. Finally, David Icke's conspiratorial books are extremely illuminating for those who would like to know just how deep the rabbit hole really is.

Socrates--the only man in history to be executed for merely asking questions! Buddha (he rejected the teachings of his time and sought to find his own answers to life--not to mention he gave up the life of a royal prince); Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Lance Armstrong, and all of the unknown heroes of the world who, quietly in their own way, try to make the world just a little more honest.
