How am I not myself?

About Me

I'm a dork, a nerd, a geek. I read books like Catch 22, Ender's Game, Hitchhiker's Guide, and Godel Escher Bach... I watch movies like Spaceballs, Royal Tenenbaums, and Army of Darkness. I listen to bands like REM, They Might Be Giants, The Shins, and Peter Gabriel.

I like to pick up hobbies then never do them again a week later. My DDR pad is collecting dust. My paints and canvasses are collecting dust. My dust farm is collecting dust...wait a minute. Currently I am trying to buy my ex-roommate-but-then-roommate-again-for-2-weeks's guitar. I bet I try to learn it for a week before I put it in the corner to collect dust.

UPDATE: I bought the guitar. Now I just need to learn how to play it.

UPDATE #2: Collecting dust? Check.

My Interests

Besides music, movies, tv, and books, I also like sports, video games, food and beer...

Bowling and football are always fun to play. Watching the Saints and Hornets. Sometimes I might watch the occaisional ping pong on ESPN 2, because those guys are freaking amazing.

Since I'm from New Orleans, I really like beer and seafood. Fried catfish, fried shrimp, po-boys, muffalettas, boiled shrimp, and of course, the best food ever, boiled crawfish. And Abita Turbodog is the best beer ever.

I'd like to meet:

Zombie Abraham Lincoln. There's too many zombie movies where the zombies just kind of amble about aimlessly. Never has there been a great zombie leader, and I think it's high time we had one.

Music:

REM, Radiohead, Jump Little Children, Queen, Sufjan Stevens, The Arcade Fire, The New Pornographers, Peter Gabriel, Tom Petty, Genesis, Red Elvises, The Shins, PUSA, Corn Mo, TMBG, Better than Ezra, Keane, Modest Mouse, Cowboy Mouth, Franz Ferdinand, Tenacious D, Phantom Planet, Afro Celt Sound System, Joseph Arthur, Cake, Jethro Tull, Weird Al, Sting, The Wrens, The Black Keys, Filter, Cafe Tacuba, Grandaddy, Polvo, Ratatat

Movies:

Army of Darkness, Evil Dead II, Princess Bride, Bubba Ho-Tep, The Truman Show, Six String Samurai, Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, Bottle Rocket, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Memento, Donnie Darko, I Heart Huckabees, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaptation, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Being John Malkovich, Shawshank Redemption, Existenz, Robin Hood: Men In Tights, Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Dodgeball, Moulin Rouge, Super Troopers, Big Fish, Zoolander, Mad Max, Mad Max: The Road Warrior, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, Johnny Dangerously, Boondock Saints, Waterworld, American History X, Fight Club, Jesus Christ: Vampire Hunter, The Station Agent, SLC Punk, X-Men, X2, Star Wars 4-6, Indiana Jones (all of them), Office Space, Clerks

And these are just the movies I think are excellent. Dont even get me started on the list of movies that are good. I told you I watched an insane amount of movies.

Television:

Lost, Scrubs, The Office, My Name is Earl, Family Guy, Mr Show, MST3K, Chapelle's Show, Kids in the Hall, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Red Dwarf, Pete and Pete, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Conan O'Brien, Monk, the 4400
