True eloquence holds us too mute for the applause

About Me

"True Eloquence" is that which holds us too mute for applause!
I've been composing music and singing since the mid seventies here in Las Vegas in local joints and southern and central California for private gigs. I've been blessed to have met many wonderful and talented musicians and performers in my journey. First and foremost, my son, Jon Gamboa is a up and coming rising star in the rock force. Watch out for him in the next half decade. Ken Snow, one of the most talented men I know and has been playing his guitar and singing his songs for more than four decades, has become my very best friend, mentor, and far more than a brother to me. Also along my musical path, I got to meet Stanley Clarke and discussed in detail about a song I love on his "I Wanna Play For You" album. I had coffee with Bernie Taupin a couple of times on the central coast and so enjoyed his company. I had a long conversation will Bill Chaplin who co-wrote "After The Love Is Gone" only my favorite song on the planet. I met Robert Lamm at Chicago's 25th Anniversary Tour in Las Vegas. Jon Hul, the baddest drummer I know, has been a great friend through the decades. Jerry Lopez of Santa Fe, who I met in the 80's, has been another musical inspiration. A great meet and chat with Tower of Power's Emillio Castillo and David Garabaldi in the early days also changed the path of my music...and many others I'll write about in the future. My favorite tool of choice is my Baby Grand piano "Melissa" which I named in honor of my late, great baby sister, Missy Gamboa. Back in the early days, I was second chair to Missy and her wonderful arrangements and soulful singing. Since her passing back in 1986, I've made a gallant effort to fill her impossible shoes. I believe at the present time I make her proud. At the other end of my musical spectrum, two years after my sister's passing, my son was born. What a musical prodigy he has become. Currently I possess the knowledge of vox and sound from observing such a talent as my sister and the vision of future music endeavors with guidance and inspiration from my son, Jon Gamboa. - - - - - - - - - - - - "Life is good!"
