Paul David Hewson was born on May 10, 1960, in Dublin, Ireland. He grew up in Cedarwood Road with his Protestant Mother and his Catholic Father. He lost his grandfather and his mother within a few days as he was fourteen and lived alone with his father and his brother in a house full of aggression. He grew up with the Irish Motto: 'To dream is to be disappointed.' He attended Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin. To overcome the death of his Mother, he formed a surreal street gang with his friends Guggi, Gavin and other boys who didn't play football and had a good record collection. The gang was called Lypton Village, where Paul got his name 'Bono Vox of O'Connell Street'.Later on he followed a call Larry Mullen Jr's, who wrote a note that he was looking for people who wanted to play in a band. He became the singer of the band called Feedback. A year later the band was called the Hype but Bono was thinking about going to College instead of playing in the Band. After fourteen days, though, Bono's life as college student was over because he haven't had the required degree in Irish language. Now he spends all his time with the band. As Dik Evans leaves the band U2 is born.
In 1982, Bono marries Alison Stewart. They have four children Jordan (1989), Memphis Eve (1991), Elijah Bob Patricius Guggi (1999), and John Abraham (2001).
While U2 is on their Elevation Tour, Bono's father Bob Hewson is in the hospital. Bono is on his father's site as he dies on August 21, 2001. Bono's goal is to make poverty history. He was an important of both Live Aid concerts and formed companies like DATA and One. He is always fighting for Africa, whether he is bringing out a fashion collection (Edun) made in Africa or he's meeting important people like President Bush and the Pope to get more help for Africa.
