Joanna writes Monet all the time and she sent a letter to Monet telling her about her Birthday. Monet wanted to surprise Joanna on her Birthday. So Monet and her mom drove almost 70 miles to visit Joanna. Joanna wasn’t home because she was at Chucky Cheese’s celebrating her Birthday with some friends. Then Monet and her mom went to Chucky Cheese’s. Joanna and her friends were so excited. Joanna’s mom cried because she was so happy. Monet and her mom say that they were so blessed to have met Joanna and her friends. It was a wonderful day.
Even though Monet wasn’t really there she was there in spirit with Mrs. Ozbun’s Class.
Monet is a very giving person. She sent Monetrox.com bracelets, flyers, and signed pictures to every kid in Mrs. Ozbun’s class in Roswell NM. The kids were so excited and they try to send her thank yous when they can get the time. Some of these kids don’t have much and it meant the world to them. She made their school year one to remember. Monet is an Amazing Singer/Actress/Songwriter/Friend. Monet is 16 and has already been on some popular TV shows. (Bernie Mac, Zoey 101, Suite Life of Zack & Cody, & Lincoln Heights). Also one of her songs “Call it a Day†will open the Movie “Moondance Alexander†Which is still in production. But should be in theaters in 2007. Monet has performed at many impressive venues. Which include The Pond; The Ventura County Fairgrounds Stadium; The Staples Center; The Key Club in Hollywood; and at the Whisky A Go-Go. Also in 2005 she opened for the Pop Idol Jesse McCartney. Monet has been very busy in the studio getting ready to get her CD out. So keep an eye out for that to happen soon. Even with being busy with all of this stuff that Monet is doing she always finds time to help others. Monet goes to the Children’s Hospital to cheer up the kids; Picasso's Kids benefit show, 24/24 World Concert, The Annual Ronald McDonald House Walk for the kids, and so much more. Monet is not only an Amazing Singer/Actress/Songwriter; but she is an Amazing person. When Monét Monico (Lerner)was born the capacity to generate extraordinary sound came with her. "My mom told me doctors came running from across the hall," says Monét. "They wanted to know how this baby could scream so loud!"
Fourteen years later, it's Monét's fans who are screaming the still extraordinary sounds emanating from her vocal chords. What's most impressive of all is that those sounds seem more rooted in the classic rock and new wave of the late 70's and early 80's than the bombastic vocal gymnastics of the American Idol generation. Though she grew up loving hip-hop and jazz and listening to the likes of Beyoncé and Britney, she says that, when she began recording her eponymous EP at Studio City Sound, under the direction of Producer/Engineer Tom Weir, she wanted a heavier rock sound than you tend to get these days. And, with the help of all-star musicians, she gets it: guitars are supplied L.A. Music Scene Heavyweights Dave Darling and Tim Pierce; Lance Morrison, who have worked with Don Henley, Rod Stewart and Alanis Morrissette, among others, plays Bass; Matt Laug, who has also played with Morrissette, is on drums. These are great musicians working their magic on refreshing songs written or co-written by someone who is musically mature well beyond her 15 years. Monét herself plays guitar and piano and says that next she'll be tackling the drums.
The teen sensation has already performed to wildly enthusiastic crowds at many impressive venues, including: The Pond for the Rick Dees 2003 KISS FM Talent Search; the Ventura County Fairgrounds' Stadium; the Staples Center for Lakers and Clippers games where she received standing ovations for singing the National Anthem; the Key Club in Hollywood where she wowed the audience with her performance at the New Music Weekly Awards; and most recently the world famous Whisky A Go-Go. Monét has proven to the able to draw crowds to the stage in every genre.
A background in musical theatre productions include "Grease", "The Sound of Music", and "Hello, Dolly" has helped hone her ability to connect with an audience. Her acting experience adds a mature and passionate touch to her concert performances, as well as her music videos. In her "2 of Them" music video, that connection is rock solid.
