Li Cari is a Los Angeles based fashion label designed by Jazmin Whitley. A red carpet and line of smartly dressed LA personalities extended from the door of the Dimani boutique in West Hollywood on Friday night. Onlookers passing by on Sunset Boulevard stopped to gather behind the assembly of photographers hoping to catch a glimpse of what was going on inside. This head-turning effect seems to be a forte of Jazmin Whitley, the young yet immensely talented designer of Li Cari. Li Cari teamed up with Dimani to put on this evening of breathtaking couture overload with a catwalk presenting Li Cari's Spring 2007 line. Her Spring collection showcases an array of designs, from glamorous floor-sweeping gowns to 70’s inspired luxury swimwear—all of which were featured on the runway at Dimani.

The high profile event was a vibrant scene both inside and outside, doubling as both a social affair and intimate shopping opportunity. There were cocktails, musical performances by John West and Alex M from MTV’s Laguna Beach, a live DJ in the display window, and of course the Li Cari runway show. Among the eager guests who attended were clients dressed by Jazmin in Li Cari for the evening; they include the Bachelor’s Erica Rose, Zoey 101’s Victoria Justice, Friday Night Lights’ Aimee Teegarden, and the musical performer Alex M. Additional high profile guests were actresses Christian Serratos and Diandra Newlin, and Beauty and the Geek winner Cher Tenbush.

The highlight of the evening was the Li Cari showcase of Spring 2007. With a fresh take on the conventional catwalk, Li Cari presented a striking runway show that ran through the store and out onto the sidewalk of Sunset Boulevard for an additional crowd waiting outside. Even her own models are avid fans of Jazmin and her couture label. “I think Jazmin is such an inspiration because she is so young and has an amazing line,” said Lisa Riddle, a Li Cari model also from the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency. Jazmin acquired a positive and enthusiastic response from her own models, as well as the guests and clients. The Dimani boutique owner Jacquie Mani-Aiche declared that Li Cari had “nailed it in the butt” with the collection. The evening was one of success and pure magic.
