A Disturbing Look
I'd like to meet:
Really, really would have liked to meet Albert Einstien ....he had to be a hoot to hang out with.

Who
do I support?
Here we are again. Let the political posturing and sideshows begin. We can hope for reason and rationality in campaigning, but, odds are not in our favor. Once again the Democrats are lining up, dare I say coming out of the woodwork? Without an incumbant, you would hope the Republican primary should be more interesting this time. Yet it feels likely to still lack the right stuff. Bring in the clowns. All hoping to win a chance at the highest office in the land. As usual it's looking like it will be the lesser of two evils.
With the current line-up of candidates, Hillary gets my support. I know, I know...Whitewater. Yet she , were the election held today, would get my vote. There is more than one reason for this but mainly:
Currently riding a wave, perpetuated with the assistance of the media, Barack Obama is not of any discernable substance. To his credit, he does talk a good talk. The man says all the right things, he's charismatic as hell but...he is a junior senator with very little track record.
Senator Clinton is a smart lady, she is a quick study, and she has a no-nonsense approach to issues. She has been in the news frequently and has often been the subject of flack. That is balanced by the plus side, which includes her experience.
Senator Clinton has gained political experience and networking as the First Lady of the White House. Anyone who doesn't think she learned anything valuable in the 8 years she spent as First Lady needs to rethink that position. She experienced the workings of this country and foreign policy firsthand. The same for her time spent in the Senate. She did a job worthy of re-election there. Senator Clinton is experienced in both the front and back end of the government, so to speak.
Call me sexist but Hillary also gets my support as the first woman in some time to try for a seat in the White House. For some time now, I have wanted to see how having a woman at the helm would do. You guys have screwed it up enough. It's time for a major change in leadership and few (sane & serious) could do much worse than what we currently have. Who knows? Her husband might finally turn out to be an asset.
I do not agree with everything she says but, expecting that with any person, let alone a "decider" (got to love that one) is unrealistic. As I said earlier, voting lately has been choosing the lesser of two evils. That just may be the natural state of politics.
Music:
It sounds a bit odd, but, I could marry Eddie Vedder's voice. That's just how much I love it! The rest of him's good too, but, that voice.......
Movies:
Blue Planet & Cosmos are two sets I feel I can use the word adore to describe my like of them. As for films...I am a movie-junkie. I will watch all sorts but my favorites generally are: Sci-fi, ACTION ACTION ACTION, Anime, some horror.
I don't really care for "chick flicks", but I have watched a couple that I liked. Two I can think of are
"An Officer & A Gentleman"
and
"Urban Cowboy"
Those are chick flicks...right?
Television:
Adult Swim, 24, Simpsons, South Park...
Books:
Love to read...yes, I do have books.
Heroes:
My offspring, Denis Leary, Ronald McDonald (thanks Elliot), and Emeril.
seriously...my offspring never ceases to amaze me and I often underestimate him. He takes it fairly well.
The real heros in our world, those who care, those who see a need and help fulfil it, they who are civil and those who do with only the most intrinsic of expectations. Whether people of note or a face in the crowd. Doing their job or just jumping in to lend a hand. Anyone who puts effort into making the world a better place is a hero to me.
