Caution first discovered hardcore / drum and bass after being heavily exposed to it by his older friends who he used to knock around with back in the day. As time went on he found himself frequently making the short trip from his home to Fibre Optic Records in Leamington Spa to purchase the latest tape packs to feed his addiction for breaks and bass. Then after many many months of saving he picked up his first decks in 1996 at the age of 15 and has continued to mix the sounds of drum and bass ever since.
After a few years playing at small local parties Caution decided to start taking things a bit more seriously and started to send a few demo tapes out to local promoters. By doing this he made a contact in the form of DJ Reaction who was involved in a night called Raising The Deep in Banbury who then invited him to play at a DJ competition that he was hosting. Caution managed to win this competition and secured a residency at RTD over 20 other local drum and bass DJs. He now had some sort of foundation to build on as a club DJ. After securing this residency he found it easier to get other promoters to take him seriously, and from this received many regular and one off plays at then established Midlands drum and bass nights such as Trauma (Leamington Spa), Prosession (Birmingham), Cohesion (Birmingham), Get It On (Leamington Spa), Blazzin (Coventry) as well as various other nights around Coventry and Leamington Spa.
2002 was an even better year for Caution as he picked up plays at nights such as Sonic Boom (Leicester), Monu-Mental (Hereford), Re-Energize (Bournemouth), Twisted (Wolverhampton), Sub Culture (B'ham), House Of God (B'ham), Tunnel Vision (Banbury), Cohesion, Trauma along with two return plays at Birminghams ever popular Prosession night. Raising The Deep had since disbanded and evolved into a new night called Terra-Technique so Caution continued to feature as a resident there playing for them at different clubs in Leamington Spa + Banbury.
Since that year Caution found himself somewhat in demand and has since picked up regular and one off plays in and around the Midlands for Club Formation, Sonic Boom, Genetic (Leicester), Chameleon, In:Motion, Terra:Technique (Banbury), Pressure (Warwick University), Autumn, Atomic Jam, Broken Minds, Noizworkz, Prosession, Underground City, House Of God (Birmingham), Flava Unit, Rebirth (Kettering), Stimulus, Evolve Nightclub, Trauma (Leamington Spa), Source, Kinetic, HQ, Solution, DrumBabyDrum (Oxford), Ascension (Rugby), Nasty Wayz (Evesham), Deckology (Stourbridge), Urban Troopers, The Glasshouse, Safe and Sound (Coventry) to name but a few.
Out of the Midlands he has since graced the turntables at various drum and bass events including Dirt Sounds (Stroud), Audio Antics (Brighton), Monu-Mental (Hereford), Bassix (Cheltenham) and Pulsar (Kings Lynn) as well as featuring on radio platforms such as BBC 1xtra (Sappos The M1X Show 07/11/2005), koollive.com and breakpirates.com. He has also previously worked submitting interviews and related content to the Accelerated Culture Awards nominated best website dnbforum.com and featured in March 2004's Knowledge Magazine article on the Oxford drum and bass scene.
Caution can be heard regularly on rotation at his residencies at :stimulus: (Leamington Spa), Kinetic (Oxford) & Chameleon (Banbury)
