“The Deva Method is the closest thing to getting cosmetic surgery for your voice.” – Performer Magazine
Jeannie Deva is an international celebrity Master vocal coach, vocalist, published author, clinician, recording studio vocal producer/studio coach, trainer of voice teachers and founder of Jeannie Deva® Voice Studios.Determined to offer contemporary singers an alternative to classical training she began extensive research on the voice starting in the early 70's. Through her research she unmasked the myths from the simple truths of voice function and development. From there she created a method to fully develop the voice; one that allows full individuality of style and freedom of expression. Thus she has become known for her simple yet powerful, cutting edge and world class vocal technique: The Deva Method® - A Non-Classical Approach for Singers--, used worldwide by singers and teachers alike.
On E! Entertainment television, she appeared as the vocal coach for Reality show “House of Carters” staring Nick Carter (of The Backstreet Boys), Aaron Carter and their three sisters. With numerous other television appearances in Venezuela and the US she has been seen additionally on such shows as “Idol Chat” – TV Guide Channel and the Hollywood entertainment industry-based talk show: “Question Reality.” Deva is a founding member of the elite Voice Council and endorsed by TC-Helicon Vocal Technologies, as well as one of five high profile vocal coaches officially endorsing Thayers® Products for Singers.

“Jeannie Deva is a total asset to anyone serious about their vocals. They should get involved with her right away – the sooner the better.” – David Frangioni, Audio Specialist, [Aerosmith, Bette Midler, Elton John, Julio Iglesias]
Record producers, labels and vocalists fly her cross-country and continent to assist the vocal recording of their albums. For this she has received endorsements from Engineers and Producers of the Rolling Stones, The Cars, Elton John and Aerosmith.
“Jeannie Deva always has her vocalists prepared for the studio, both mentally and technically, and with complete conviction. This is due to her consistent persistence to detail in her pre-production sessions. I would highly recommend her services to producers and artists who want to get convincing vocal performances.” – Jesse Henderson, Chief Engineer, Long View Farms Studios, [The Rolling Stones, The Cars]
Born into a family of award winning artists, Jeannie’s professional singing career spans four decades and began in New York’s Greenwich Village with Janis Ian, opening for Richie Havens. “Jeannie! What a great voice! Your notes jump off the tape and through the air.” – Chick Corea
With a vocal range of four octaves, Deva combines styles from R&B, Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical-Pop and Celtic, using her voice with lyrics and as an instrument without lyrics. “A uniquely new, incredibly versatile voice.” – Robert Holmes, til Tuesday, Platinum Recording Artist
In 1975 Jeannie graduated Berklee College of Music, Boston, earning a degree in Composition and Arranging. She assisted in founding Berklee’s voice department and later became the ten-year President of Berklee’s Alumni Association.
By 1978, Jeannie founded her first school of voice “The Voice Studio” in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1988 she began training and certifying voice teachers in her method. Since 2002, independently owned and operated Jeannie Deva Voice Studios have been opening in on both East and West Coasts of the United States.
Jeannie's private voice studio is located in Los Angeles. Through the use of Internet phone, she also maintains clients across the United States, South America, Europe and the Orient. This is due to the fact that she "hears with her ears" and knows exactly what a singer is doing physically via the sounds of their voice.
