About Me

Loud Music for Soft People is an American music recording project based out of Central Florida. Since late 2004 they've created ambient, ethereal sounding dream pop, glitchy and dub inspired music. Primarily consisting of Raymond Stanley with Stephanie Musser creating art and photography, they have 2 releases - the self titled album released in 2005 and Alone in the Vertigo Conundrum released in 2006. Alone in the Vertigo Conundrum also featured Jehn Cerron of Eyelight as she collaborated on 8 songs including Regret I Left and Tell Me - both songs written by her and in the case of Regret I Left remixed. In August 2006, it was the featured release on the San Francisco based Musical Starstreams for program 635. It was one of the shows top 20 releases for that year. A third release is still in the works.

Such comparison to groups like the cocteau twins and dead can dance is expected as loud music for soft people convey the same, ethereal sound...and with early cocteau twins albums featuring elizabeth frazer on vocals, the likeness with jehn cerron's vocal treatments results in such inevitable comparisons. Still as a single body of work, alone in the vertigo conundrum, conjures up the best of early 4AD label offerings.
