Flowing beetwen ether and electricity

About Me

Paolo F. Bragaglia is an italian electronic composer. Musically born during the New Wave era, in an analogic world, one day he woke up in a digital world..... Constantly interested in metamorphosis of sound through musical genres, during the years he has widened his interests to many different musical forms. The exploration of new worlds of sound stimulate him to research the possible involvements of music with the moving image, the scene, the architecture. So, he began an intense career as a soundtrack composer, working also for commercials, theater and art galleries. Ever fascinated from the clash beetwen melody and experimental attitude. His first full lenght record “Magnum Chaos” came out in 1999 with Fridgezone label, an electronica instrumental work, with the partecipation of the famous italian musician Mauro Pagani at the violin. 2002 see the issue of “Kinomuziq (short film and video soundtracks 1994/2002), a collection of excerpts from soundtracks for short movies and videos (presented in various italian and international festivals such as the “Festival del cinema di Venezia”) with the partecipation of the former bassist of “Lounge Lizards”, Steve Piccolo. Mensura (2003) is the title of his third full lenght album, with the vocals of the italian actress/singer Monica Demuru. An eclectic journey through electronic music were drum machines, analogic waves, minimal digital abstractions open to the organic pulsation of electric bass and acoustic drums, and to an oblique idea of song. In 2006, he approaches to the italian label Minus Habens with his fourth release “Mystère du printemps”. An instrumental work that moves between lyricism and glitch textures. Evocative and aerial, “ Mysterè” try to explore the boundaries between the pure digital and the organic sound. Matteo Pennese plays the cornet on the album and is responsible of further sonic manipolations. In 2006 Paolo also compose the original tracks for the fashion show “Fornarina Urban Beauty Show” in Barcelona,Milan, Rome in which collaborates with the producer Howie B on the track “Dazzlin’ beat” published by Minus Habens in 2007 on a limited edition 45 rpm picture disc. He also partecipated to various compilation album, among these we remember “Schlecht und Ironish - Laibach Tribute” (1998) with the track “Mars” and “Let it Boom” (2003) with the electronic cover of the beatles track “A day in the life”. Furthermore, he has worked as a producer for the record “Nella città ideale” of the artist/designer Massimo Giacon with the writer Tiziano Scarpa, and in the Drunken Butterfly’s “Pornocoma” and “Aporia” releases.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
