About Me

I'm bassist and trumpeter. I use to break and shred sounds transforming them into something different. I'm also known as 'Massimiliano Belgravius' and I like Jazz, Free Jazz, improvisation, contemporary music, Soul, good old rock & pop. I play: 4/4 acoustic double bass (that I call Wallace) with Gregorat bridge, a cheaper but good enough 4/4 acoustic double bass (still nameless) and 4/4 hand crafted electric double bass (that I call Birillo), Borgani soprano flugelhorn, Kuhnl&Hoyer Eb trumpet, anonymous pocket trumpet. I play also other instruments (wood flutes, lutes, melodica, etc.) and several occasional objects: it all depends on the particular mood of the improvisation...

Band Members: "Me, Myself And Eye" (Charles Mingus), but sometimes other great friends too! My all-time band is the "Antica Distilleria Fulcanelli", with always changing members (but me) and ever changing sounds. I played with Lee Noyes, Massimo Magee, phil hargreaves, Gosia Basinska, Barry Chabala and other improvisers in the Cadavre Esquis project, that is one of the best experiences I lived by now. I wish to thank them all and to start the project real soon again! Other projects: the "Tourette Syndrome Trio" from which I temporarily split in december 2008; "The Night Farm Duo" with Narvalo (drums, electronics, noises). Now I'm on the road to start other new projects. Stay tuned!
