About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorSister Jones is a lifelong project.God, family, relationships, love. As much as we learn and experience more of this life, we think about it, write about it, sing about it! Thats the cycle. Simple as that. (she says hmmm) Well, not exactly simple, as you can imagine, the creative process is a lot more thought out, and more time then not, the experiences are not always a breeze. By far, lifes challenges not always cut and dry. And oh, what a beautiful expression music is! Through it we try to colour the bridge between these everyday challenges and our spiritual reality. Such a reality tells us not to be conformed to this world, but in turn, prove what is the good & perfect will of God (a work-in-progress if ever there was one!)Growing up having artists as Michael McDonald and Anita Baker on heavy rotation, yah no the sistas had to have the 'Soul' in em! In recent years we started to dabble around with instruments, namely the good-ol gee-t (guitar) in flows the 'Acoustic'. And our contemporaries have encouraged an organic 'Folk' factor to our sound.Listening to Tracy Chapmans Subcity or Nelly Furtardos Powerless; the heart is overwhelmed, the soul sobered to the reality - there are some things you just cant say! Many times, things we wish we could say, we only seem to have grace enough to sing through a melody. And just as hymns and prayers compose psalms, our souls and lives compose music.
