LAZARUS HAS RESURRECTED!!!!! And he's back with his long awaited debut LP DESPRATE MEASURES. With production handle by UK veteran beat banger Agzilla and a few surprise guest appearances, DESPERATE MEASURES promises to be one of the year's best albums. Born in Hackney, East London, Lazarus spent the first 10 years of his life in England before moving to Chicago, Illinois U.S.A. He spent 13 years in Chicago before returning to London in late 2001 for what he thought would be a two week vacation. This "two week vacation" turned into him relocating to the UK and the formation of CEPHAS ENTERTAINMENT in 2007 with his business partner Steven Lee. Laz is now a commodity on the UK Urban scene, performing several live shows in London and Brighton as well as abroad in places like Malta where he was the main musical act at the 2005 Goldwell Awards. His records have received airplay on BBC's 1XTRA and he co-hosted Midas Touch Radio on London's Y2K FM 90.6 and ITCH FM 105.1 for three years each. Away form the recording industry, Lazarus has done voice over work for Virgin Mobile in Australia and Canada, with the commercial he voiced winning a Titanium Lion Award at the 2005 Cannes Advertising Festival. He has also had songs published by BMG for film and TV libraries and is now looking at utilising his writing skills in the literary world with short stories. 2008 is the year of the "Cephas Jump-Off" with the release of the Lazarus single "Thin Line" w/b "History In The Making" as well as DESPERATE MEASURES, both dropping in May. What's happening my people, hope you're all good. If you're reading this, then you just finished reading my "official" bio a few lines up. I decided to add a few words personally because I've just had my page updated (Big Up Nuttin Like The Love Of God...he's in my top friends!!) and posted some new songs. For those of you out there who have listened to me on the radio, seen me perform or whatever before, Big Up!!!Some of y'all might be hearing and seeing me for the first time. If so, thanks for checking out my page. I have to apologise to my all peoples thats been waiting for my album DESPERATE MEASURES to drop. I know its taken longer than expected but we've been going through some changes. 2008 marks the official introduction of CEPHAS ENTERTAINMENT to the world and I've been working on some new material thats been coming out crazy!!!! I just want the album to be classic, no if and's or but's about it! A lot people think music can't help change the world but I beg to differ. While recording this album, my relationship with JESUS has become a lot stronger and without me giving you a sermon on each record, you hear that in the lyrics. Hip Hop these days has gone away from actually talking about anything with substance but DESPERATE MEASURES will be a breath of fresh air into a very dull Hip Hop scene on both sides of the Atlantic. Influences: Quite a few artists have had an influence on me from different genres of music. As a child, it was all about Michael Jackson (don't front, you too!), Prince (ARE YOU STILL FRONTING???) and Bob Marley. As I got older, it was all about Hip Hop!!! Artists like Ice Cube, N.W.A., D.O.C., Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, 2PAC, Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, Scarface, DMX, Lox, Eminem, Big Pun, Beanie Segal and Kanye. On the R&B side of things, I love Mary J. Blige and walk with R. Kelly(especially that "U Saved Me" album). Stevie and Marvin are classic!!! These days, I would say the Bible is a big influence on me and so is my bishop, Apostle Elisha Salifu Amoako. My pastor Rev. Samuel Bentil is also a big influence on me and so is life itself, I've seen a lot ("...I place events of my life between the blue lines, spit it through mics, it hits ya ears and blows ya mind..." Last of a Dying Breed)!!!

Sounds Like: I've been told I sound like artists as diverse as Nas, Rakim, Guru, Mase and Kanye. Since none of these dudes sound alike (well some would say Nas and Rakim do...), this lets me know that I sound like NO ONE except LAZARUS!!!!!!
