Eoin Boyle's debut album was a treat. The self-released collection of songs display the breadth of Eoin's creative ability and his influences. From the delicate 'Australia' to the uplifting 'Change', each song allows you to accompany Eoin on a journey and leaves you wanting more. One review in Hotpress read 'this stunning blend of folk, rock and soul is a beautifully arranged collection of songs'.
At Eoin's gigs you know for sure how good he is. You know it's the live experience of hearing his voice, his songs and his instruments that draw you in and not the technology in the studio. Eoin and his band work hard, rehearsing regularly. Just a cursory visit to their dark and dingy rehearsal studio leaves you wondering is that music you can see floating in the air, or just plain old cigarette smoke.
Rehearsals pay off as anyone who has ever been to one of Eoin's gigs will know. A regular performer at the Cherrytree music venue in Walkinstown, the organiser said they 'have given us a couple of the most memorable gigs during our first year'.
He knows how to attract the crowd, and once on stage, engages all the people in front of him. He gets lost in his own songs, feeling every word with a raw passion. The crowd gets drawn in, captured in his musical net. You will feel the music inside you. I promise you a good time.
The good news is Eoin has indulged us once again. His new song 'Dead Man Walking' currently graces MySpace. A song that tells the story of a young soldier in Iraq, it simultaneously highlights the futility of war. It has beautiful arrangements and a country leaning. It has a smooth, rich sound that makes you want to drink it up. Like all Eoin's music, it's a gem.
If you haven't done so yet, you need to experience Eoin's music. Buy the album. Go and see his next gig. Listen to the new single. You need to love this music in whatever form you can... Now.

"Even a cursory listen to this talented Dublin singer-songwriter reveals that he clearly draws his influences from a much wider palette than the usual Jeff Buckley/Nick Drake template that most opt for. With its carnival-like background 'Best For Her' could be from an early 1970's Ronnie Lane & Slim Chance album while the hymn-like 'Australia', a song of a departed loved one, recalls James Taylor's early work. Well worth a listen!" - Colm O'Hare, Hotpress Magazine
"Former Ballyfermot Rock School attendee and Edison Falls man Eoin Boyle's debut album is one of many contenders for the perfect Christmas gift. The stunning blend of folk, rock and soul is a beautifully arranged collection of songs" - Roisin Dwyer, Hotpress Magazine
"A great group of musicians and songwriters who have been so supportive of the Cherrytree and have given us a couple of the most memorable gigs during our first year" - Paul Lee musiclee.ie
"Boyle has a fine gravely tinged voice perfect for this kind of rustic sound" - Road Records
