Hooray for music!

About Me

Music happens to be one of my many passions.
So one day I decided, "Well shucks. Let's get a myspace and put some of my own stuff on it."
Cherice Cosentino was born on a particularly wonderful afternoon in October of 1989. Her birth was probably uneventful. Since that fateful day, Cherice has been living and breathing for music. Actually that's a lie. Cherice discovered she could make music when she received a yellow, "Sesame Street" toy keyboard when she was between the ages of 3-5. Not only did she create her first ever song, she also taught herself how to play "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" using a number system that she created. She was probably inspired to write her first song after countless times of listening to her Italian immigrant/hippie extraordinaire father play the guitar and sing to her. After her toy keyboard broke, she kind of ignored music until the 5th grade when she joined her school band playing the flute.
The following Christmas she asked for a real keyboard and she received the most useful Christmas gift ever. It was a cheap 61-key Casio keyboard that served as a foundation of what would later come.
Armed with a basic understanding of music, Cherice began to experiment again and was soon learning songs by ear that she heard around the house or on the radio. By teaching herself bass clef, chords and other musical type things, her piano prowess continued to expand until her 61-key keyboard would no longer suffice...And then she got a better one.
Flashforward to 2007... Cherice is still the same flute playing band nerd, only now she's creating more music and art than ever before. You can frequently find her playing in various coffeehouses, church basements, open mics and anywhere else that will endure her unique brand of noise. Not only does she continue to play the piano, she also makes various audio spasms she calls "singing", but is probably crowd torture to the rest of her choir. Just kidding. Cherice is actually a classically trained vocalist.
But she still makes random audio spasms and couldn't imagine her music without them.
And as a side note she'd also like to say that writing in third person is probably the most amusing thing of her life. That is all.
Cherice has a new album (ep?) out! "Kites (Up, Up and Away!)" has officially been released to the public. The track listing is as follows:
1. Vegetables
2. Lilies
3: Kites
4. Luna and the Butterfly
5. The Picnic/A Daughter's Thoughts of Death
6.Interplanetary Lullabye

Here I go.

I don't want to be famous. Ever. Nor do I think I have the potential to be famous. Ever. But I don't think it's asking too much for a little recognition from people other than my friends and family. &...

Some philosophical thinking about religion and the world and how fucked we are.

While I don't consider myself Christian, and for a long time I was very firmly atheist, I really like listening to some Christian music. Rachel Bishop is my favorite of the genre. Check out her myspac...

Thoughts about life

I'm kind of tired of life. Not the actual living part, living is great! But the everyday routines. And I'm tired of how fast paced everything is now a days. Granted... I don't ever recall a time when ...
