I did found the KING DAVID SOUNDSYSTEM in 1995. Nuff inspiration came from my friends Jah Flo and Major Christie who used to run a sound by the name of King Step Hi-Fi. These Idren really introduced me to reggae music. The first KING DAVID SOUNDSYSTEM dance was held in a small shack called Club Voltaire - Downtown Tübingen, South Germany. In those days we used to rent some speakers and an amplifier to bless Germany with Jah reggae music.In 1994 I traveled to London for the first time. I brought home a lot of good records and many visits to London followed. Even though in these early days I selected all styles of reggae, the vibes of the sound - that is the selection and therefor the message - was roots. Love and Unity! Get up and fight for your rights! Babylon must fall!The most inspiration came and will always be credited to the one and only Jah Shaka. King of the sounds and blues !!!
In 1999 I viseted Jamaica for three months and in the same year moved to Berlin. I continued the works of a reggae ambassador, organising dances, selecting reggae records and doing mic-work - talkin.. to people about jah truth and rights in a ..german youth patois style...
The first location in Berlin I did play my records was a bar named Dezibel. There I got in contact with my friend Dubservice and the Handshaked-Riddims crew. I was a resident selector at their legendary ..Stellwerk parties...Various people in Hamburg over the years supported me very strongly, so that this link to Hamburg became, and still is, very important for KING DAVID SOUNDSYSTEM. Big up Pensi - Irie Hifi for the massive Inspiration. Big up Martin Cutterlonia/ameis.e for the positive works. Sounds like Kingstep Hifi, Black Famous, Roots Commandment, I-Livity, Ital Acoustics gave me the opportunity to play KING DAVID SOUNDSYSTEM in Hamburg.The link to my hometown Tübingen, especially the ..Epple Haus.., also always was, and still is, of importance because once in a while KING DAVID SOUNDSYSTEM is playing there.
Due to the efforts of promoter Bongo from Tübingen on dec. 31st 2004 I had the great opportunity to do a dance with Dub Judah and Afrika Simba. (You can get in contact with me, if you are interested in the recordings of that session).In Berlin I came to know Lu-Jah, Deeroy, Prince Rootsky and others who hosted the Berlin Dub Club in the 1990..s. I played sessions with all of them. I played my sound in various locations all over Berlin (Supamolly, Rosi..s, Mehringhof, Maria, Yaam, Hoppetosse ...)too many to mention. I want to shout out nuff respect to my dear friend Lu-Jah at this place for I&I did play records together many and many more nights.In March 2005 promoter Bongo managed to bring the mighty roots singer ..Tenastelin.. to germany and I&I held a KING DAVID SOUNDSYSTEM dance at RAW Berlin, faeturing this deeply influetial artist.Over the years friends & I did build our boxes and I manged to get the technical equipment together for what is now the ..king david warrior style p.a... Big up Jah Organic Sound & the dubpipe! Big up Bauminista & Goldfinga!
A central issue of the mission is constant improvement on the power of the sound. Nuff respect & shouts going out to all heavy sounds - universally!
