Foothills Teen Librarians

About Me

..Kristin, Karen, and Emily are the teen librarians at the Foothills Branch Library in Glendale, AZ.
The Foothills Library is located at 19055 North 57th Avenue. We're right down the road from the Skate Court and the new Recreation center. We're open 7 days a week and have computers just for teens, music CDs and new release DVDs to check out for free.
We do a lot of teen programming including movie screenings, craft workshops, poetry nights, teen volunteers, and afterhour parties.--

My Interests

Reading (of course) specifically teen literature and manga; playing puzzle video games and sudoku (Kristin, not Karen); goofing off;

I'd like to meet:

Teens living in Glendale (AZ); Teen literature aficionados; Authors of teen literature; and other teen libraries and librarians (Karen would also like to meet Hello Kitty.)MySpace Layouts MySpace Layouts

Music:

Did you know that Foothills Library has a teen music CD collection? The biggest names in popular music can be found in our collection. Check it out on our Library Catalog

Movies:

Kristin likes to think she likes drama movies, but she never watches them. She always watches action movies though. Karen likes dark comedy. Favorite teen movies are Jawbreaker, Heathers, and Rushmore.

Television:

Kristin watches a lot of TV on DVD. She misses being addicted to TV like she was when Buffy was on. Currently, she's rewatching all the Smallvilles while waiting for Lost and Heroes to return. Karen watches Lost, Grey's Anatomy, and old episodes of the Twilight Zone, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, of course.

Books:

Kristin reads primarily teen literature and graphic novels, but she reads Janet Evanovich for guilty pleasure. Karen reads a wide assortment of books, but recommends Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, Poison by Chris Wooding, The Hollow Kingdom by Clare B. Dunkle, and she LOVES The Minister's Daughter by Julie Hearn.
Go to Book Obsession our Teen Literature Blog. All the teen librarians talk about what we're reading and why you would love it or hate it.
