The PAINT Show: Conceived during the First Fridays Art Walk on the streets of downtown Phoenix, Arizona, PAINT was formed in the summer of 2004 by DJ Seduce. Thought of with the idea of creating an evening that brought all artistic outlets together for 1 night a week, PAINT is a Representation of Urban Lifestyles through Music, Art, Performance & Spoken Word Poetry. By pushing the boundaries and creating something entirely unique and diverse, PAINT is a weekly endeavor that brings an eclectic evening together to showcase some of Arizona’s most "predominate" and "well defining" "artists", as well as Host to special events and guests from across the nation. The Paper Heart (arts venue) has graciously opened its doors to give us a home for nearly 2.5 years and also has allowed us to stretch the limits in creating a space where we are the place where artists and art lovers alike could experience something different.
Open mic for poetic expressions can be heard from a broad range of Spoken Word Poets through out the night, DJ’s and featured guest musicians play the jazzy sounds of worldbeat music creating an atmosphere of a big city in a foreign land; live artists paint pictures of artistic thoughts to canvas, wood, and homemade boards that give the imagination something to ponder on all night, creating an evening of ART in all forms.
PAINT is created for the people, by the people, letting all those who love the arts in downtown phoenix enjoy a night out on the town. Spoken Wordest, Musicians, B-Boys/Girls, Art enthusiasts, and just about any and all people who need to experience something different come to PAINT each week.
