About Me

Pro-animal rights, anti-racist punk fanzine writeror more fully...
I'm a 35-year-old punk rocker and fanzine writer. I love going to gigs and have a healthy interest in the world around me. I could be descibed as a 'political animal' but I dislike party politics immensely. I'm a vegan and strong advocate for animal rights, and passionate anti-nazi.
I love meeting new people, punk or otherwise, and go to see as many bands as possible. Peterborough has a number of great young bands and some old favourites too. I also go to a lot of gigs in Boston, Nottingham and London as I have close friends in those places. And Boston's IQ is the home of crust - some of my favourite gigs have been at that pub. But if you wanna introduce me to a new punk rock venue near you - let me know where it's at!
I also spend a lot of time on my fanzine - initonit - my baby. It's been going since I was 17, and used to be made up mainly of band interviews. Now, there's still a bit of that, but I like to put more of my personality into it, so there are lots of views of life, politics and the world in general thrown in. I just love writing!

My Interests

ZINNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS But besides that: Punk, horror movies, cooking vegan food, meeting new people, reading zines, writing zines, walking in the woods and over the marshes. Learning more about people and the world around me. Hearing new bands and types of music, discovering new books and having my mind opened by interesting people.

Music:

Street punk, hardcore punk, D-beat, thrash, anarcho-punk, some ska-punk, some metal, some old-skool indie, some folk-punk, crust, grind, some metal, some pop punk - I love hearing new bands... London Punk Gigs

Movies:

Hammer/Universal horror movies, modern splatter movies, anything political, The Dark Crystal is a big fav! I love Return Of The Living Dead and Monty Python films. Anything with Vincent Price, and any 'so bad they're good' films. I'm a big fan of Bride Of Frankenstein and Halloween too! Pans Labrynth is tops. V For Vendetta - how inspirational is that!

Television:

I try to avoid TV as much as possible, there are so many more constructive things I can do with my time. But, I liked Prison Break, the news, Dr Who, Shameless and Waking The Dead. Anything with Peter Kay in is a laugh. I hate reality TV, soaps and the poor excuses for music shows we get. I have to admit I enjoyed Buffy and Angel - I thought they were fun. But, The Day Today and Brass Eye can't be beaten as far as TV goes.

Books:

Sandman graphic novels, The Crow and From Hell graphic novels, horror stories (Poe, Lovecraft and modern stuff) Fanzines. Any political books, I love Breaking Free, Burn The Rich and Crimethinc stuff, plus Oscar Wilde! I still enjoy the Stephen King/Clive Barker/Guy N Smith books I read as a kid. I quite like reading Shakespeare too. I loved James Herbert's Fluke too. Plus zines - read more zines NOW!

Heroes:

Jill Phipps and Barry Horne

Today was weird. I went to the east cost when you can visit a seal coloney which comes ashore every year to pup. You can get very close to the seals and see thousands of adults and pups, sometimes act...
