Dig Your Own Grave

About Me

Burning The Prospect haven’t just rebelled against the tedium of life in small town England, they screamed at it, growled at it and thrashed the fuck out of it.Grinding through the d-beat fields of the Lincolnshire Fens, this five piece have thrived against the odds. Inspired by the legendary Indian Queen in Boston, the band’s DIY attitude, anger and sheer fire-power have the locals quaking in their gumboots. The band earned their punk rock stripes by playing in local upstarts Patient Zero, Face The Enemy and The Happy Hostages. The crawled across the fields to play some Tragedy covers for a benefit gig happening in Boston, as the aforementioned bands couldn’t play, due to a shared member being away at the time. Luke rumbled the bass, while Steve and Jimmy shredded the guitars, Joe did d-beat the drums and Dan took up vo-kills.After the gig, the band decided that they actually had fun and decided to keep playing, only writing their own songs.Steve admitted he didn’t really have the time, with being away at University and already being in Patient Zero, so Luke switched to guitar and Soph arrived to take over on bass. The Prospect played a shit load of fucking loud gigs, including a short tour with Army of Flying Robots in Ireland and a 10 day drunken jaunt around England and Wales with Leeds’ own Valhalla Pacifists. There was a well-received demo recorded and a rather fine split DIY 7" with Silence (Poland), as well as a track on the Hardcore vs Hunting comp 7" on Muppet Vision. Not long after Ireland, the band called it a day, saying farewell with a limited edition one-sided 7”, on their own Right To Refuse records. This raging slab of vinyl contained the band’s finest material to date. However, it seemed our thrashing heroes had disappeared into the cabbage fields for good. But the beast was only sleeping. Six months later, and alcohol-fuelled the idea to do it again, as the d-beat boys missed it – and had nothing better to do – well they do live in fucking Boston! Daz is now playing bass. They are still heavy, they’re still d-beat, and they’ll still grind ya fucking face off! .
