TRUTH AND RIGHTS
DEBUT CD - JANUARY 6, 2005Eight76s talent roster is definitely HOT, and one of the labels firebrands is a young singer with a passion for life that burns itself into every note he sings. The recent back-to-back releases of the Rustic CD (which features Hurry Hurry Baby) and Shes My Lover on the hot new Skasmatic riddim CD means that Fyah Blaze is currently enjoying the success of not one but TWO singles on the Eight76 label. Whats more, his official South Florida stage debut at the recent Night of Serious Vibes concert at the James L Knight Center confirmed his budding skills as a live performer. Opening for master performers Half Pint, Barrington Levy, and Luciano would be a daunting task for any newcomer, but Blaze not only held his own- he set it off in no less than a BLAZE of glory!Fyah Blaze, born Kevin Morris in Harbor View, Jamaica, is a devout Rastafarian who believes in the power of music to teach and reach his fellow man. Blaze initially took to music as a hobby while studying Business Administration at Albany State, but the pull of his destiny called to him through the influence of musical mentors such as Buju Banton, Capelton, and Fred Locks. Fred Locks provided his entry into the music industry with Light Up the Lighter and Kings of Kings, his first two recordings. The songs were well received, and a memorable stage performance in 2000 led all who witnessed the event to christen the young artist FYAH BLAZE.Blaze also takes his position as a role model to young people very seriously. He maintains an open door policy for the youth of his community. He wants to show them that anyone who believes in himself can reach any goal if they use the steps of faith and education.Fyah Blaze has just completed work on his first album with artist/producer YahBreeze and the rest of the All Arc production team set for release January 6, 2005. His desire to use music to spread love and knowledge make him a perfect vehicle for the All Arc writing style. The album will feature such calls to consciousness such as the inspiring Lion Paw as well as love stories set against a variety of musical backdrops. His new single, "Truth and Rights" on the Detrimental rhythm will be included and another track, Keep It Burnin, which is also on the upcoming Eight76 Zinc Fence Project compilation CD. Strong lyrics and a sensitive vocal style will have Fyah Blaze lighting up the musical landscape for many years to come!
