Born and raised in the gritty streets of Chicago,Freak grew up influenced by hometown heroes such as Chaka Khan,Curtis Mayfield,Quincy Jones,Earth Wind and Fire,and Buddy Guy. Freak was destined to be a part of the diverse musical world. During high school Freak became interested in Jazz band and quickly sustained his position as Lead Guitarist,Basist,Pianist,1st Trumpeteer and Drummer. Studying years of Wes Montgomerey,Stan Getz,Motzart and Charlie Christian,Freak developed the skills needed to compose/Produce and perform on the Chicago circuit. At age 16 Freak was playing in clubs such as The Wild Hare,The Cotton Club,The Clique,Caberet Metro and The Thirsty Whale with his "Fake I.D". It wasnt long before this musical prodigy caught the attention of several Chicago House legends including Bad Boy Bill,CZR,Rick Garcia,Dajae,and Darryl Pandy. Freak soon began doing session work (Major Label) in the most prestigious studios such as Chicago Trax and CRC. Freak competed in the WGCI seminar and won with hometown R&B Artist Maurice Mahon. Freak also won the V103 Ramsey Lewis Showcase with his original group Religion Of Peace,and won the Mancow Band Beatoff with his Rock/Rap group Lifted. After highschool and a brief college stint, Freak decided to move to New York City with $200 in his pocket,1 change of clothes,and his Fender Stevie Ray Vaughn Stratocaster Guitar to persue his musical endeavors. Freak played open mics at Nells and Village Underground and caught the attention of several Major and Independent Record Labels as well as winning a Freestyle Rap Battle hosted by Funkmaster Flex. It wasnt long before Freak made his residence Uptown Ny and is currently a resident Producer with Grammy nominee, Chris Styles C.E.O of Dangerous LLC,whose catalogue includes Rapper 50cent,LLoyd Banks,Tony Yayo,Young Buck,G Unit,Fabolous,Avant,Missy Elliot,Christina Agulera,and Brooklyn Rap Phenominon D.V Alias Khryst. Under the mentorship of Chris Styles, Freak landed co-production on 50 Cent's single "Amusement Park" from his 4th LP entitled "Curtis". Kay Slay's (Streetsweeper) Artist Big Lou has also added Freak to the roster of in-house producers and is currently finishing up his major label debut. Freak is also Working with Grammy Award Winning DJ Roger Sanchez of Stealth/Ultra record as resident producer/writer and instrumentalist and is under the Guitar Mentorship of International Jazz Guitar Legend George Benson.
