The Biography of Draft
In the world of entertainment few people have the pedigree needed to be a multi-media artist like Draft. Born in Chicago, Draft was raised by a family of music aficionados and nurtured on the sweet sounds of the city. Born Alfredrick King Slater Jr., Draft was raised primarily by his dad, aunt and late grandmother. Surrounded by cousins, aunts and friends, Draft began to develop his love for music. Exposed to everything from blues, jazz, rhythm & blues and all forms of rap, Draft began to try his hand at writing. At the age of twelve a young Draft (calling himself Scorpio at the time) entered his first talent contest with the confidence of a surgeon that he would walk away with nothing less than a first place finish. Needless to say when he didnt finish in the top 4 he was devastated. This was a crucial point in his young career. At such a young age Draft (Scorpio) could have walked away from the game altogether, but instead he chose to learn from the experience and tighten up his game. He began to read as much as he could. Remembering the lessons taught to him by his uncle (a successful entertainment entrepreneur) Draft knew the more knowledge he had, the more he could write about. Having gotten his writing game tight Draft felt there was still something missing in his game. Little did he know he was about to find out. In his early teens Draft was forced to face the reality that the family he had known all his life was not his by blood. Searching for the answers of his past Draft put down his pen and sought out his biological father. Hard feelings, bad blood and a name change followed as Draft traveled his road of personal enlightenment. They say its always darkest before the dawn and in Drafts case, that was the case. Finding the family he left behind was his true family Draft was able to mend fences and begin writing again. He had found what was missing in his music .. pain. Finding a new edge to his writing Draft was able to put his pain, joy and love into his words. Draft the artist was officially born. Devouring the competition on every stage he stepped on Draft began turning heads in the music industry. Having perfected his game, Draft was finally able to convince his uncle that he was ready to take his place among the best in the business. Draft put together a team of hot producers. Draft finally has the team to take the industry by storm. Get ready because Chi-Towns number one Draft pick has just been selected!
