Tunes..."Use it All". I think this one came to me in a dream. Or something. Andrew and I did this last year. Or was it the year before? Then my "Katrina Relief" tune, "Bad Wind on the Bayou", featuring Phil O'Keefe on bass, Sandy O'Keefe and her daughter Samantha on backup vocals, and my son Andrew on drums. "Walk Away Renee"...Andrew and I again. And...what the heck did I put on there? OH...yeah...the Tsunami relief tune from a couple of years ago. '04 I think.

Band Members: Well, for sure there will be some surprises come next Thursday...!!! Stay tuned...I actually have like three or four separate (but related...sorta) things I work with. There could be an orchestra of us, heads shaven, wearing saffron robes, chanting and banging on Tibetan water-gongs, a couple of us singing acoustic stuff...or just me disguised as an old man. No, wait, that's what I look like anyway.
Influences: Beatles, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Allman Brothers, Johnny Winter, Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello, Todd Rundgren, Philly Soul, Motown, Beach Boys, Byrds, Eagles, The Who...all the great harmony groups and quite a few I'm just hearing now. Old country, Texas Swing, Jazz Fusion, Funk, Basie, Ellington...Good songs!
Sounds Like: A water buffalo during the rutting season.Heck, I dunno. My influences are pretty rangey. We're likely to sound like just about anything.

So, this "Club Wars" thing, coming up Halloween, lists the band I'm in as "The Ted Hoffman Band". I hate eponymously-named (is that redundant?) projects. So, how does this come about? We couldn'...

Our musical history...

A lot of us oldsters at this music thing, regardless of personal success, enjoy looking back (for better or worse) over our years of playing. How we got started, what bands we were in, what broke them...

Paris goes to the chair...

(Paris, 1783)... Madame Paris Hilton was carted off in a tumbril this morning, while the ladies knitted, and led to the guillotine. Nah...they just put her in the hoosegow for awhile. But, you'd think...

What a bunch of dickweeds...

First off...I'm a nonsmoker. I've been off cigarettes for over 20 years. That said, my wife is still a chimney. But, that's her business. Well, actually it's mine, too, as I end up funding her habit....

What would it be like...?

...To work with people you actually like? Moreover, to actually work with people? Every job I've had has either been alone (radio announcer) or ...uh... alone. And you can be alone with 6 or 7 other "...

Depressing thought for the day...

So, does it make sense???

Just about everyone has "famous" myspace friends. And, in 99 percent or greater of those cases...us mortals knocked on the door, and Joe or Jane Famous's "myspace staff" were all too happy to add us, ...
