About Me

I'm married and have the two most wonderful sons whom I love dearly. I have a pug and a python that I'm just crazy about. I'm a free spirit and I do my own thing. I don't care what's popular - I like what I like. I have a sensitive soul. I love my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. I have wonderful friends. Depending on my mood, I can be very outspoken or very shy. I can't stand injustice and I hate lying. I love music and books. I'm a poet and I know it. ;-) I love skating. I like learning new things. I like languages. I like quesadillas and filet mignon. I don't like popcorn or peanut butter. My favorite color is purple. I like all things African, Australian, English, Irish or Scandinavian. I love to laugh and have a keen and slightly twisted sense of humor. I'm a nightowl. Music soothes and inspires me. I have a weakness for potato chips and dark chocolate. I'm a very good cook. I'm no math whiz, but I'm pretty good with words. I am fascinated with dangerous creatures; big cats, sharks, and especially grizzly bears. They're all very scary, but endlessly fascinating at the same time! I love road trips. I'm somewhat addicted to lip gloss. I love the 70's! I prefer colder weather. I don't like spiders, rodents, or frogs. I'd love to live in a log cabin in the snowy woods somewhere. I love a full moon. Peas are my favorite veggie. I want to go on safari. I like to play BINGO. I like going to the movies. I have a collection of "X-Files" and Hanson stuff. I have a super sense of smell(which is not always a good thing!). I have great intuition, which I have learned to heed. I don't like heights, but if I make it to Australia, I think I'll climb that bridge in Sydney Harbor! Cornfields kinda freak me out. I think Count Chocula is a pretty good midnight snack. I'm a computer geek. I twirl my hair. I have big dreams. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I express myself much better with the written word than with speech. I think that if you have something nice to say about someone, you should always say it! You never know when you can make someone's day with a sincere word of kindness. I look for the beauty in everyone. I believe Jesus Christ is the only Savior of the world and I wish everyone I know would find their peace and salvation in Him. I love many people and I have many interests. Far too many to list here...Thanks for stopping by. Feel free to comment if the mood strikes ya...and have a nice day! :-) ************************************************************ *************** WHAT'S NEW?? **************************** Weird Al's Holiday Survival Guide: ..********************************************************** Seems Orlando Bloom has a new movie, "HAVEN", but they aren't playing it around here. My Interests

I really love roller skating and wish I had time to do it more! I'd love to have my own little rink! So far I have two pairs of skates - these... And my speed skates....But I really want a pair of Landrollers so I can skate nearly anywhere! I'm saving for a pair, but they aren't cheap!I always wanted to be in the roller derby because it just looks like a TON of fun...My kids worry that I'd lose all my teeth and break all my bones, but I suppose you could do that no matter WHAT you do... Here's a bit of a roller derby bout... ..I also like ice skating...I enjoy the men's skating especially and always try to catch it when it's on T.V. Here are a few of my favorite skaters: Johnny Weir...Yvgeny Plushenko... And Rudy Galindo! (I was very happy to catch him(and other great skaters) live when Stars On Ice came through town years back.)I love music!! When I was a kid, I didn't have many toys, nor did I really want them. I just wanted radios, stereos, records and musical instruments and such... ;-)I love to play my drums... And my piano....which is very special since it was my grandmother's and she left it for me. My youngest and I are very fond of playing it a lot... ...and my tambourine! I know I'm from NY, so I take a lot of heat for this, but I can't stand the Yankees and my favorite baseball team has always been their arch nemesis, the Boston Red Sox!! I just love 'em!! Go Sox!!Here's a cool little diddy celebrating their World Series win...(Yay!!) .. Here's a pretty hilarious commercial about the Red Sox World Series win... .. And I like some other teams, but the Minnesota Vikings are my favorite in football...Go Vikes!!I'd really love to travel the world!! Some top destinations are Australia, England, Ireland, Sweden, and Africa...And I'd really like to stay in a castle...and of course, I'd love to go to Boston - it's so historical, plus I'd love to see my Sox play at Fenway! (I even wrote a little diddy about that one day!)I think baby orangutans are the cutest animals ever! I'd love to hold one someday. They are just adorable!! I used to drink my coffee black, but now I tend to favor a delicious french vanilla cappucinno. Yum!I'm a poet at heart and can't help but express myself poetically whenever the mood strikes...When I have time, I enjoy writing(poems, stories, songs, etc), computing and always learning new things...I like to do crosswords and cryptograms and other such word games...and I'm always involuntarily proofreading things...And I really enjoy a good game of cribbage...when I can find someone to play!

I'd like to meet:

I can't stand being around fake, shallow types, but I really dig interesting people who aren't afraid to be themselves. I generally gravitate towards intense, passionate, creative & artistic folk, and the main thing I like in others is just sincerity, loyalty, and a great sense of humor. Obviously, I'd also surely like to get to know anyone mentioned on this whole page(and then some), and there's way too many people I could list here, but here's just a few pretty famous folks that I definitely wouldn't mind meeting... A great band with great music - Hanson. They write fantastic songs and they put on awesome live shows! They are true musicians/singers/songwriters and I have extra respect for them for sticking to their musical guns and refusing to make crap music that fits some record company mold(Go 3CG!). They are the real deal. It's too bad that they are so frustratingly misunderstood by many. They are really something and I'm a big fan indeed...Here's a great video tribute set to Hanson's "Every Word I Say"...it's got footage from all the way back in 1997 till now.Kudos to whoever made this.... ....Here's an interesting interview...pretty funny. ..Someone did a nice job on this video tribute too, set to Hanson's "Strong Enough To Break"... ..I love this funny one....Hanson is "On The Spot"!! What a strange show. Taylor get quite the angry look on his face at one point...(!) .. ********************************************************** My favorite Hanson and my favorite male singer is the one and only Taylor Hanson. Taylor is not only incredibly musically talented; he's soulful, passionate, smart, funny, and very interesting in many ways...and that awesome voice!! WOW! I just love his singing, his humor, his style, his wit, his passion, and pretty much everything else I know of him. And on top of it all, he's one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen...Taylor at a college talking about the downfall of modern music...all I can say is "AMEN!" ..********************************************************** **** I have listened to ABBA since I was a little girl and in my opinion, they are just musical geniuses and put out some of the best pop songs ever written. Benny & Bjorn are one of the greatest songwriting teams ever and Agnetha and Anni-Frid(Frida)voices are just amazing. They are my musical heroes..." ..********************************************************** ****I admire Frida Lyngstad in many ways - she's always been my favorite female singer. She's just a vibrant, unique and beautiful lady with an incredibly beautiful voice..... width="425" height="350" ..********************************************************** * *I really dig Art Alexakis. I love his singing and love his songwriting. It's raw and blunt and brutally honest. No one can write about screwed-up relationships and people quite like Art can! I really love his candor. And besides his music, I think he's just a really beautiful and interesting man... And I just love it when men wear glasses - lookin' good there, Art! ;-) Here's Art doing his thing in a recent Everclear video, "Hater"... ..********************************************************* Jeff Lynne: another musical genius and definitely high in the ranks of my favorite singers. Jeff is an incredible talent..and like ABBA, I've been a huge fan of ELO music since I was a girl and I like everything he's done since then. He's definitely another musical hero! Here's Jeff doing the solo thing in "Lift Me Up"! ..********************************************************** ** "The Thorpedo", Ian Thorpe! I love swimming and Thorpey is the swimmer of all swimmers! I wish I had more opportunity to see him swim, but they sure don't air swimming much here in the States. But when the Olympics were on, boy did I love THAT - woohoo! I remember getting up at 4am, because that's when they aired some of his races! I think he's awesome! Go Thorpey! Here's a nice tribute to Ian... ..Here's Ian in an Adidas commercial... .. width="425" height="350" ..********************************************************** *Of all the Red Sox, Manny is my favorite! People can say what they want about him, but he's one of the best hitters there's ever been, so THERE! Let Manny be Manny!! ;-)I think all of us Sox fans love "Big Papi" David Ortiz! I love it when he's up to bat and Manny's right up after him...it's always the most exciting when they're up! Woohoo!! ************************************************************ *I never was a huge Jets fan, but I just love Chad Pennington! He's just adorable. :-)Here's some footage of Chad... .. **********************************************************Je ff Goldblum...a great actor and just SUCH an interesting, intriguing, and totally attractive guy. I totally dig him!Jeff in a commercial.... ..Jeff in action on the big screen... .. ********************************************************** *********************************************************** Orlando Bloom is a doll and sure seems like a lot of fun!******************************************************** *** *********************************************************** * I thought so much of Steve Irwin and I really wanted to meet him. I always hoped that if the Lord ever saw fit to let me finally get to see Australia that I'd go all the way up the coast from Sydney to Queensland just to see him. But now, it's too late. He lived his life more passionately and enthusiastically than anyone I've ever seen....you just couldn't help but love him immensely...I'm so sad he's gone...Here's a nice tribute to a totally incredible man...Steve, you'll be SO missed! :-( ..********************************************************** * *********************************************************** ***********************************************************T wo peanuts were walking down the street. One was "a salted"! (Yes, I appreciate stupid humor!) ;-)

Music:

I LOVE music and could never list everything here - I like so much, and mostly prefer all the older stuff, with the 60's & 70's stuff being a particular favorite. Oldies, folk, soul, rock, blues, funk, country, classics, disco, reggae, classical, metal, gospel, and just basically everything good - I like it all! I could literally go on and on. I truly appreciate a great singer and great song-writing and I love harmony!! Music has always been one of my favorite things in the whole world, so if it's good, I listen to it! Here's a few favorites... There's nothing quite like a Hanson show!! I'm still on a quest to get into the front rows though..."Save Me"... ..ABBA are ABsolutely fABulous!!Ah, classical meets rock...nobody did it better than Jeff Lynne and ELO! Here's "Sweet Talkin' Woman"... ..And "Turn To Stone"! ..Everclear rocks! The line-up has changed recently, but Art Alexakis is the heart of the band, and as long as he's involved, I'll buy the CDs...Here's Art with the old Everclear line-up doing "Wonderful": ..Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison & George Harrison: all singularly spectacular, but collectively? WOW."Handle With Care" - a great song and an awesome video! ..Here's the Wilbury's rockin' to "End of the Line"...Good stuff! ..
How does anyone not love Johnny Cash?? Johnny was an amazing man and an amazing performer. Johnny's video for "Hurt" is the most powerful video I think I've ever seen...If this video doesn't get to you, I wonder if any video ever would... ..Wow, Freddie Mercury...what an amazing voice and talent. "Mama" Cass Elliot is one of my favorite singers ever. She was just incredible...and The Mamas and The Papas were amazing as a group! Here's the Mama's and Papa's on the Ed Sullivan show back in the 60's: ..Peter, Paul & Mary...another harmonious musical delight for the ears!Janis Joplin had such soul! When I want to hear reggae, UB40 is my hands down favorite...Patsy Cline simply was a cool chick and one of the most gifted singers ever...what more can you say?Jim Croce was just a fantastic singer/songwriter...and hey, any guy that writes a song about a roller derby girl is cool in my book! ;-)The Bee Gees are icons of the 70's, but have made great music from the 60's to today...of course, now that Maurice is gone, it'll never be the same...And while they've got a wealth of fantastic music, how can you not just love this old video from 1977? :-) ..I was such a huge Duran Duran fan when I was younger...I'm glad to see the original line-up is back together these days(and all those folks told me in high school that they'd never be around in 20 years!) ;-) Here's a very rare old Duran Duran video, "Nightboat"! .. Weezer is a great band and Rivers Cuomo is a great songwriter...Here's Weezer "Perfect Situation" video... ..And a classic: Weezer's "Buddy Holly"! ..Ah, the J. Geils Band...great stuff!"Freeze Frame"!..I can't help but want to boogie when I hear KC & The Sunshine Band...and other disco and funky tunes! :-)Weird Al is the just King of Parody - the man is hilarious and totally brilliant! There's so many Weird Al gems, but here's a few that are sure to make ya at least giggle. The first one is "Gump"! ..Here's "I Lost On Jeopardy!"... ..And "Living with a Hernia"... ..

Movies:

Definitely anything with the following actors in it: James Dean, Jeff Goldblum, Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio Del Toro, Adrien Brody, Joaquin Phoenix, Hayden Christensen, Hugh Grant, and my favorite actor ever, River Phoenix...he was really something... etc. I like a lot of "creature features", action movies, comedies, documentaries, sci-fi, romance and generally anything interesting really. There's WAY too much to list, but here's a few favorites:Love Roll Bounce! :-)...... width="425" height="350" .. Here's a very cool video for "The Return of the King":..And hey, hey, let's hear it for Legolas! ;-) ...... I can't even watch this clip without crying...sheesh! ..

Television:

Homer Simpson makes me laugh till I cry...The Simpsons is just a side-splitting laugh riot, now matter how many times you see the same episode. Definitely a huge fave of mine...Here...if these two next Homer Simpson montages don't make you laugh, nothing will....... width="425" height="350" ..Here's some others I'm pretty keen on too...when I get a chance to watch! Ah, the British...Monty Python is hilarious. Eric Idle was always my favorite, but they're all hysterically funny! Here's some of my favorite sketches:The "Silly Job Interview" sketch: .."My brain hurts!" ..The dead parrot sketch! ..The "SPAM" sketch! ..And the "Twit of the Year" sketch! hahahaha ..The "Argument Clinic"... ..I also really like Seinfeld, Frasier, Desperate Housewives, Survivor, nature, history, medical, and investigative shows too...and that "Hunter or Hunted?" one is always interesting...

Books:

I love to read. Suffice it to say that to me, when I go to the library, I'm like a kid in a candy store! I love all those "Outdoor Life" kinda books with all those true life adventure stories in them. I especially like reading anything on grizzly bears, because they scare and fascinate me. I also love reading about far off places. I generally prefer non-fiction over fiction, but I'll read anything I can get my hands on that interests me...and that's a LOT! This is a new book I've discovered and it is not very long, but it is powerful. A friend at work read it out loud to us and it made me cry! A really beautiful book...

Heroes:

My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ...I'm eternally grateful for His grace and mercy.....I went to church a lot in my life, but never understood true salvation till I was 23 years old, when the Lord showed me I needed HIM and Him alone. Not good works, not going to church, not trusting in anyone or anything else. Those things are good, but they can't save anyone. Religions don't save people...Jesus and Jesus alone saves. You just can't get to Heaven without personally accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior. The Bible is clear on this and it's a very simple concept, but people love to complicate it needlessly. Once I got that, I did what any willing person can do and simply asked Him into my heart as Savior and Lord and my life changed right then. Now I'm very grateful to know that despite the same ups and downs as anyone else, He is there with me to pick me up and keep me going! Thank you, Jesus!
