Clarissa Borba is a percussionist who works with sound experimentation and unconventional ways of playing percussion instruments, vibraphone and marimba. She also works with brazilian music and folklore.
She has a Master’s Degree in Percussion Performance from the East Carolina University and a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Miami.
She has performed on major venues like: Cité de la Musique, in Paris, The Forbiden City Amphitheatre, in China, Carnegie Hall, in New York, Theatro Sao Pedro, Brazil.
Her main influences are the music of George Crumb, Christopher Deane, Santiago Quintans and of course her native sounds of Brazil.
As a composer she works with sound experimentation and that can be heard on some of her samples right above.
Actually she teaches percussion in France at the Conservatoire d’Alençon and at the Le Mans Music Conservatoire.
