Speedo liked the phrase so much that they used it as a group name from then on. Rap Conscious formed originally in 1985, in Brixton South London. The original line up was Mc Daddy Speedo & Mc Fly Boy Dee. They used the name Rap Conscious after a short spell working with Dj Tcut K, of the BTJ Production crew in early 85. Rap Conscious were a strong force on the underground rap scene throughout the mid to late 80s, and worked with artists such as, BTJ Production Crew, Manifets Productions AKA ET, Maxi Jazz, Dj Biznizz and Tim Westwood. With appeared on TV programs like Splash, BBCs Open Space and the at the time newly formed channel 4. They worked with groups like, Imperial Mixers, Dj Cutmaster Swift, Hip-Hop Alliance, Freestyle 85 and a band called Funk You. Rap Conscious performed at many venues around the UK and toured with The Soul Food Cafe in Switzerland 1989. With over twenty years experience in music production songwriting and rap performances, Rap Conscious is still hitting ya with new and fresh styles.
