Sax and Horn arranger, singer, and recording whore for the Ticklejunk All Stars. The Ticklejunk All Stars CD Future Funk Sessions is about to be released. And last week we released another 12" called Resist Me EP, featuring a remix by Boca 45. Playing sax with Danny Massure and Phil Anthony has opened cosmic musical doors. I have also done the sax work for Danny on his Soul Cellar EP with a remix by the All Good Funk Alliance. I play a little keys, do some vocals, percussion, bass, strings, synthesizers and vocal, horn and string arrangements with TJAS and lots of song writing with Danny.
In some very exciting news - the MC on a Hip-Hop track that Danny and I wrote is Chicago MC Diverse from Chocolate Industries. The track Finally Arrived is an extra funky joint with a bone jarring horn section and dance floor on fire beats. It is going to be on the Future Funk Sessions when it is released this spring.
I did the horns for the All Good Funk Alliance on their remix of Tito Puente's Mambo Herd. This was a contribution to the Big Band Remixed and Reinvented album. DJ Phil Anthony put the session together, and the ever present and steadily amazing DJ Danny Massure engineered the horn sessions. The missing-in-action Walter Fogg did the trumpet work, and Frank and Rusty did some really astounding work on this remix, which is really quite off the chain, by the by.
I done horns for Ton and Maxjo aka The Sound of Air aka NoizeUnitz - which was horns for a couple of tracks with poetess Debra Valentine. This included a baritone and tenor sax solo and full section arrangement. They are strange and experimental tracks, look for them on a Sound of Air album of all Debra Valentine Poetry.
I also just did horn tracks for: Jon Kennedy, Sleeve, Valique, Kid Gusto, Rick N, "Guitar" Johnny Horn, Ben Dean, DJ Moog and DJ Zeek on one of their soon to be released musical wonderlands. Along with engineering work from my partner, the enigmatic and multi-hatted Danny Massure.
Also found with Yogi McCaw and the Yoginis when we get booked. Our EP Songbird is out on Limitless Sky Records - and full length CD is going to be released some time this Summer.
I have just finished recording an album with my partner and drummer extrodinaire Ksin Ashe, called the Cedar Beam Conspiracy - Midnights at the Art Institute. It is some pretty wild experimental jazz and funk.
And did some horns for Letters From Traffic, with whom I can be seen playing at the Wayward Coffee House in Seattle from time to time.
And I did some horns for my dad Mike Deasy Sr. on a tune called Church House Blues, which is a loose remake of Red House. It was pretty off the chain and Danny M engineered that session.
I did the horn work on a 2006 CD for Ndala Kasheba called Refugee. The CD and video have been released posthumously on Limitless Sky Records, and was the final joint for this 12 string guitar maestro from Africa.
I have also done horns for Chandana Dixit, Ballywood playback singer and her upcoming album. Her husband Sanjeeve Sharma is no slouch on the guitar, and he has produced a wonderful record. Chandana has been promoting it in American and India.
I am also the son of legendary studio guitarist Mike Deasy Sr but have been recording and performing professionally in my own right since the 80s.
I have recorded with such notable artists as: The All Good Funk Alliance, Diverse, DJ Danny Massure, The Sound of Air, Sleeve, Valique, Kid Gusto, Jon Kennedy, The Fog People, Scott Concinitti, Samia Pani, Basement Freaks, Hillary Harris, DJ Moog, Tim Romaine, Johnny Horn, Miya Collins, Kelli Jones, Ticklejunk All Stars, Boca 45, Thomas Marriott, South City Allstars, Bob Antolin, Qdup, Letters From Traffic, Sleeve, John Amato, Kjell Lundstrom, Bart Green, DJ Phil Anthony, Terry McCaw, Johnny Conga, Dub Fanatic, Jeff Busch, Eric Goetz, Chandana Dixit, Janny Grein, Rick N, The Yoginis, Bud Wyatt, Jack Kelly, Kelly Jones, Cedar Beam Conspiracy, Noize Unitz, Mike & Kathie Deasy, Larnelle Harris, Ndala Kasheba, Croucher, Seattle Postcard, Kenkari, Jim Horn, Kid Gusto, Ingalil Vaim, Scott Johnson and Kelly Copeland, Kim Clement, Dan Cassidy, The African Knights and The Ceyleib People - I combine the speed soloing of 70s fusion bands with the honk and growl of the late 50s rock sax players. I mix into that the deeply felt movement of the freebop players and R&B ideas.

And here I am playing Tisisat live at 2007 Seattle Hempfest. The only smokin' I was doing was on stage though, but really, if I can buy a bottle of Bacardi 151 proof Rum, shouldn't I be able to buy a carton of Maui Wowwee somewhere? I mean, isn't Chardonay really the most powerful gateway drug that there is on earth anyway? Here is the video, the song is off of our EP Songbird, but this is the live version:
