Hipness is not a state of mind, its a fact of life

About Me

Following 3 hugely popular singles (Get it On, So Fine and Life/Hipness) the maverick sample slinger Sleeve returns with another slice of cut up funk for the dancefloor. As with his last outings, the dusty breaks come thick and fast. Clap Ya Hands to it Has the strings of Donald Byrd and the B line of Roy Ayers but throws in a clever break from Mark Murphy that will get the feet moving and the heads nodding. Next up is Put your hands up, this jem has a more live feel about it with an amazing break down in the middle giving this tune a big most for the party people! Out on Freestyle Records and available at Kudos records, Juno, Fat City and many other great stores.*************New Free Downloads Posted today 17/07/08***** The original version of Hipness from 1994, a new mash of Commons-Go mixed with Norman Connors and the final version of Holla which never came out as it was thought to be to risky!! For some reason people are saying that put ya hands up came out on the hipness orignal 12" but it didn't. It was due to come out on the Sleeve Album this year but just didn't get round to it There is one copy of Holla and put ya hands up on a test pressing and Sir Norman Jay has that, he also has the only cdr of the album and due to Norman liking Clap ya hands, the 12" was changed to what it is now! Cheers to Norman and thanks to every one who is buying it Peas Sleeve
