Rock 'n Roll is alive tonight !!

About Me

this page is dedicated to Bartels Bartels a.k.a Professor Nomad. Bartels is a multi-instrumentalist (bass, piano, organ, rhythmguitar) from Amsterdam.
In the 90's Bartel toured a lot, first with 'Vicious Velvet', later with 'The Bartales'. A couple of years later he started his famous 'Undercover sessions' with his friend Stephan van der Meijden (on drums). Bartel has worked with many well known Dutch bands like: Urban Dance Squad, Ellen ten Damme, Fatal Flowers, Hallo Venray!, Van Dik Hout, Sjako!, Erwin Nijhoff, De Dijk, Pawnshop, Andre Manuel, Herman Brood, Wild Romance, Bombitas, Manuela Kemp, Skik, Acda en de Munnik, The Scene, Gotcha!, Raggende Mannen, Supersub, Tröckener Kecks, Gigantjes, Bettie Serveert, Doe Maar, Gruppo Sportivo, Jack of Hearts, Kane, Spoo Dee O Dee, Claw Boys Claw, Dulfer, Alquin and last but not least.... Golden Earring.
Check the Calender for gigs. There are a couple of locations where Bartel and Stephan show up at a regular basis:
- Swingcafe de Elegast, Deventer
- Cafe Pakhuis Wilhelmina, Amsterdam
- Cultureel Podium Roepaen, Ottersum
- Cafe de Schipper, Diepenheim
- At the Oerol Festival, Terschelling
- Braskoer, Wad bij nacht, Terschelling
- P60, Amstelveen
- De Kade, Zaandam
- Cafe de Kroeg, Arnhem
- Perron 55, Venlo

Besides their Undercover shows Bartel and Stephan also play in two other bands: The Subterranean Outlaws (a Bob Dylan Tribute) and The Sidewalk Experience.
PS: This site was made by a Prof. Nomad-fan with the help of a couple of friends. It would have been more efficient to have a music-profile here at MySpace, but at the time when this profile was created I'd never met Bartel before; I didn't know whether he would appreciate this initiative or not. So, I created a personal profile without his music instead. One year later I got permission from Bartel himself to put his songs on MySpace, but by then it was not possible to replace a personal profile by a music-profile.
