He is the leading hip-hop tastemaker and sound scientist in clubs, while his job manning the turntables on German airwaves has given him international mainstream recognition. In a music demand based on mainstream popularity, Loon-E-Tunes has prevailed by placing priority on how things are put together over simply what he plays. Inspiration comes through a combination of legendary deejays Kool DJ Red Alert, DJ Premier, Junior Vasquez, and Funkmaster Flex.
When the Queens, NY native first stepped into the hip-hop game, what he wanted to do was produce tracks, but it was his exceptional DJing skills that paid the bills. Back in 1992, he began collecting Vinyl records and hanging with another DJ friend in his studio, where he was first introduced to various turntable techniques, including scratching. They hoped on making money thru recordings and local party’s in Queens, but they struggled. d Loon-E-Tunes, in hopes of a better opportunity, relocated to Germany. While perfecting his mixing and scratching techniques, he soon discovered his own ability to rock a party and capture a listener’s ear. He created a popular name for himself as a DJ, leading to premiere gigs in Germany’s largest clubs and radio stations.
Willing to work for free to gain experience in his craft, he used his own money to do recordings, distribute mixtapes and promote parties first within the US Military communities. "My style, music selection and soulful vibes is what’s exclusive, that’s how I look at it," he explains. "Some DJ’s should be reminded that spinning a top 20 charts program doesn’t make you a great DJ. I’m giving the listener the mix that’s missing in today’s mixtape market.
There are few DJ's that can produce the energy that he does in the club, On-Air, and Mix-Tape. From his great music selection, to soulful energy, turntable skills, and a positive attitude, he brings his unique brand of entertainment to an event. He truly defines him as an artist and has led him to many achievements in his career. When booked, to listen and observe his work is a performance in itself. When he performs you feel the intensity and passion he has for the music. As he switches from record to record the crowd feeds off his energy. Hyping the crowd with his vocal presence over the microphone then mixes in an even hotter record. And just when you think the party is at its climax, he switches up the flavor and turns the party up another notch.
He has been called on to support numerous after party’s and live shows from US artists Bone Crusher, Bubba Sparxxx, Craig David, Crime Mob, DJ Clue, Fat Man Scoop, Horace Brown, K-Ci & JoJo, Montell Jordan, NaS, Next, Ne-Yo, Petey Pablo, Public Announcement, Ryan Leslie, Shai, & The Fugees. Also, German artists Afrob, D-Flame, Dean Dawson & DJ Tomekk.

In order to deliver fresh and new music, Loon-E-Tunes began to go a different direction in the music scene. Live Radio. He established himself as an entertaining On-Air Personality/Mix-Show DJ. His first appearances were on Radio Russelsheim (Germany), year 2000, where he got the taste of airwaves on a small station for a delightful 30 minutes. Another milestone came through performances on the popular Saturday night HR-XXL Clubnite DJ-show.
After appearances on XXL-Clubnight radio shows in Frankfurt, it wasn’t long before he would be called to be an On-Air Personality. In 2001, German radio station HR3 created the new live DJ show (HR3 Party Grooves). Loon-E-Tunes was selected for the team to represent the "Black Music" sector. With success, and a larger budget, the radio team expanded to HR3 Club Party Grooves, broadcastings live from some of Eastern & Central Germany’s most demanding locations. In an era in Germany where the massive listeners had their ears tuned to European house and Techno, Loon-E-Tunes stayed true to pioneering Hip-Hop and R&B to the listeners. Eventually breaking through and paving the way for Germany’s DJ’s to play more of America’s "feel good" and Southern Vibes.
"At the end of the day, the bottom line is that I have a passion for the way I put things together," says Loon-E-Tunes. "And it’s obvious or else I wouldn’t be able to expand my listening base."
