"I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoever receives one child such as this in my name receives me." Matthew 18:2-5

The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes. Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: ... only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: ... only love can do that - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

To me, other than the birth of a child, nothing in this world is more inspired than the birth of a song ... and this video captures the birth of one of my favorites (and a song I've sung along to in private "count"less times in my life), written by one of my favorite songwriters, Adam Durwitz, from the album "August and Everything After" that I generally have "counted" and stated as the best of all-time, in my own humble opinion (and with many props to the producer T-Bone Burnett as well as the songwriter and Band). Anyway, while sadly the video cuts the performance of this so beautiful acoustic version of the song half-way through, please enjoy the recounting of this most brilliant song's inspiration - and how and why it is such a poignant reminder of what we all carry so deep inside each of us for what motivates us to do what we do ... and how and why we're always searching for its validation. Until one day, we wake up with the blessed understanding that such validation comes from within - and has always been there - by birthright - from God and at the very moment he blessed us with this beautiful Life we're now living!

This video is fun for me cause the song is co-written by my good buddy Slam, this remix is produced by my good friend Mig, and it's co-sung by Christina, whose original signing demo was produced by my old friends Rob and Heather (of Elicit Productions) ... all great people, and just further proof of how small a world it is!

My two favorite Irish imports musically combine to cover this great song written by Nancy Sinatra, the daughter of the original and only true Chairman of the Board in the music biz, the one and only Frank. In fact, when I spent an Easter Weekend in Ireland while at Oxford, the only "tourist" thing the kid from Jersey had to do was find the studio in Dublin where U2's brilliant early albums were recorded - there's actually even a picture out there somewhere - so Ketch if you ever see this, I'd love to see that pic again ... a fun video - with special meaning for me.

My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ... and all of you who help bring me closer to Him. Especially my father, whose light and love still shines as a daily guide and inspiration here; my mother, whose light shines down with love and inspiration from above and is a constant reminder of what our ultimate mission is here on Earth; my wonderful three brothers and three sisters and their beautiful families whom I count and am forever grateful to have as kindred spirits and best friends; MJ, PMG, DJ and RJ, my four dearest friends whom I've been blessed to be able to count on through all the recent storms in my life; my newest friends and the good people associated with IllumAlliance and Beyond Borders TV and its vital mission, and the rest of all of my incredibly good-hearted and supportive Friends whom I have been so blessed to meet and to share so much Divine goodness and joy through this amazing journey. And not to forget all those who have come before, and, in a special way, Artemisia Gentileschi, whose passion for the healing power of both art and justice regardless of social convention has been passed down and imbedded in my own DNA (at least it surely feels like it much of the time anyway!)
And, of course, most of all ... THE CHILDREN ... everywhere in this world ... and inside all of us - who were born with a God-given expectation to feel, and experience, and receive, and give LOVE ...
May God Bless you all!
