Formed in Hamar 1996 by Balbosj (bass) and Stian (drums) out of love of norwegian and swedish punk. Quickly joined by Knut (guitar) and Inge (Vocal). After a few rehearsals Inge left to play bass in Laban. Knut took over the vocals and Arild joined on rythm guitar.Byggfag scored the greatest of all rehearsal rooms; an old slaughterhouse friedge in Hjellum just outside of Hamar. This became a haven for Hamar punk joined by Barn Av Regnbuen, Laban and a few years later The Bastards and Armatage Shanks (all to be united under our own label Rabiat Records). It was also a place for drunken recordings and jam sessions.Byggfag´s first recording was for "Rock mot Pop" witch featured the songs; "Trange Bukser" and "Trine", both tracks taped on an 6track recorder at Ottestad Gaard summer 97.
Later that same year we got our hands on an 8track recorder and started the drunken recording of our demo "På Safari", tracklist; "Himmelen Blå", "Brummundøl´n", "Sammfunnet Stinker", "Status Hysteri", "Ung og Fri" & "Snut". Handed out to the people january 98.98 was a year of concerts, drinking and more drinking and late 98/ early 99 the production of "Rock mot Pop vol.2" started. Byggfag recorded the tracks; "Stå På" and " "Tiden Står Stille".The summer of 99 was the last summer of Byggfag........................
