My Interests

Theater, art, music, films, attempting to fix or build things, reading, writing plays, expanding my knowledge of life in general, politics, human rights and women's issues, world travel, comics/graphic novels, fashion - vintage and modern couture, being that kind of girl that stops traffic, hanging out with my cute indie rocker husband Patrick

I'd like to meet:

A Broadway producer. A guy in a chicken costume. The Mooninites. Boys with lovely British accents. You.

Music:

Punk, rock, ska, alternative, some hip-hop and electronica, bhangara, folk, bluegrass, big band, some Broadway musicals. Some of my favorite bands and musicians include Bob Mould, Liz Phair, Flogging Molly, Beastie Boys, Radiohead, They Might Be Giants, The Ramones, DJ Spooky, Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, and the Flaming Lips. Movies:

Jump Tomorrow, Ghost World, Dead Poets Society, The Women, the Indiana Jones films, films by: Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Tim Burton, the Coen Brothers, Baz Luhrmann, Quentin Tarantino, Charlie Kaufman, Pixar, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton. I love film. There are too many films that I love to name here, but to give you a vague idea of what I'm into, I like mostly indies, several foreign, some silent & b&w...I'm a bit of a snob, actually, although I will admit to a guilty pleasure or two. Recently seen: "The Darjeeling Limited", "Michael Clayton", "No Country for Old Men", "Lars and the Real Girl"

Currently watching: "House", "Dexter", "Pushing Daisies", "Aliens in America", and various BBC programs.

Books:

Anything by Salman Rushdie, David Sedaris, Sarah Vowell, Francesca Lia Block and Neil Gaiman. I love classic work in particular, though, like Don Quixote, Paradise Lost, The Divine Comedy, and the Odyssey. I also read a lot of plays and am especially fond of Tennessee Williams, Eugene O'Neill, Samuel Beckett and Master Shakespeare. I love comics/graphics novels: Moore, Clugston-Major, Hewlett & Martin, Willingham, Millionaire, Clowes, O'Malley, Van Meter.
