With the Hanged man there is often a sense of fatalism, waiting for something to happen. Or a fear of loss from a situation, rather than gain.
The Hanged Man is perhaps the most fascinating card in the deck. It reflects the story of Odin who offered himself as a sacrifice in order to gain knowledge. Hanging from the world tree, wounded by a spear, given no bread or mead, he hung for nine days. On the last day, he saw on the ground runes that had fallen from the tree, understood their meaning, and, coming down, scooped them up for his own. All knowledge is to be found in these runes.
The Hanged Man, in similar fashion, is a card about suspension, not life or death. It signifies selflessness, sacrifice and prophecy. You make yourself vulnerable and in doing so, gain illumination. You see the world differently, with almost mystical insights.
What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.
Lots of different stuff from different genres, ranging from Frank Sinatra, Chet Baker, to Jack White. To name a few in the middle: Rush, Dave Carter& Tracy Grammar, Soul Coughing, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Yes,.... actually there is a lot of really tough metal I really like. Job for a Cowboy, Lamb of God, Mastadon, stuff like that. It helps me relax after a long aggravating day.
Indies, festival favourites, non-spoof comedy, non-romantic comedy (just give something fucking funny without making a predictably flat love story out of it, okay?) Kurt Kuenne films tend to be the best, he's a true craft master whose time has come.
.....is poison.
Don Quixote, Choke, Wicked, A Confederacy of Dunces, Motherless Brooklyn, Crime and Punishment, Sabbath's Theater, Anthem, and of course, Atlas Shrugged. I like just about anything non-genre.
My sister, both brothers, my nieces and nephew, Mel Brooks, George Carlin, Billy Connoly, Gerald Gardner, William Yeats, Henry Thoreau, the inventor of non-stick cookware, and that guy on Cape Cod driving around with a bumper sticker that said "I don't give a fuck what you think!"
