Cooper

I dream a dream i hope will come true.............

About Me

Cooper originally formed around the year 2000 in Glasgow Scotland. There were 5 members (two of which were Dave and Steve). Made up mostly of students the inevitable happened and the band split to persue other careers after only a year or so. Not ones to give up Dave and Steve continued writing. A period of Dave crashing on the floor of Steve's Strathclyde halls of residence led to much of Cooper's best stuff. 'Party stripper' for example was born from a night of drunken songwriting in Birkbeck Court perhaps explaining the bluesy sound to that track. So heading into 2002 with a set ready to play, gigging was the goal. Steve called up a friend (Mike) from a previous band to play bass and the rehearsals began. Mike brought a new range of harmonies to the sound which really began the evolution of Cooper. The songs began to flow and the sound matured. The band recorded a two track demo at Ca-va studios and started playing gigs across Glasgow. Having been through numerous drummers it was a relief when Tony joined in 2003. Tony combined commitment, feel and a great sound that really brought the Cooper sound to life. Having played Aberdeen, Aberfeldy and Glasgow supporting the likes of The Needles, The Situates and Redwing the band are back after a two year break to once more bring their edgy contemporary sound to anyone who'll listen.
