About Me

My music is inspired by life experiences - my own and those of people I meet on my journey. The songs tell stories of struggle, pain, hope and joy: the roller coaster ride that takes us from one lesson to another in our quest to find our true selves.
I have been singing for most of my life and have dabbled with song writing on and off for a few years but only really started to take it seriously in 2003 but once I began, the floodgates seemed to open and the songs were queuing up to be given expression!
Often they start to arrive at the most inconvenient moments - not least when I am about to go to sleep and I know I must jot the words down and record the snippets of tune before I can get back to bed! I begin with a feeling, followed by a few words and somehow, a tune starts to arrive as the words develop. When I have a verse or a chorus, I record it on a dictaphone. I sing it round and round until the next section of the song becomes obvious.... .....and so the song arrives!
There is something very complete about writing a song; it is an expression in words of feelings but it is more; it is a re-creation of the mood of those feelings which is carried in the melody.
If you would like to see some of my sculptures, there are some photos in 'My Pics'.
Friends, I love to receive your comments but if you just post an advert for your music or your page here, I am likely to delete it. For me, friendship is about reciprocation, so if you are going to post a publicity piece here, please do take the time to listen to my songs and give some feedback, too. Thanks.

Band Members: On this, my first album, the arrangements have been done by Alan Smith who has guided me patiently through the process of recording and production!

It is so exciting to hear the songs come to life with his inspirational playing and instrumentation. The beautiful guitar playing is by John Potter and it is wonderful that he has made it possible to have live guitar music on the CD - thank you John! The production is also Alan's - or Professor Arthur C Throovest as he signs himself! I am indebted to him for his work, support, care, encouragement and going several extra miles to make this project a success! All my thanks to you Alan - you're a star!

Now that it is done, I hope you will enjoy the album and that it will echo for you in areas of your life and bring you pleasure! love Eva xx

Influences: There are so many influences on my music and no doubt some that I'm not even conscious of!

The Beatles, Tracy Chapman, Beautiful South, Joan Armatrading, Nina Simone, Eva Cassidy, Motown, Folk musicians down the ages........

The list might get added to from time to time!

Sounds Like: I'll leave that to you to decide.....
