John Tenta started as a professional sumo wrestler in Canada. After sumo-ing in Japan for a number of years he caught the eye of one Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki. He was trained, then one day signed to the WWF as the Canadian Earthquake. After that he met the guy who would manage him, Jimmy Hart. He went on to such feuds with Savage, Hogan, Jake Roberts, Dusty Rhodes, and more. He won the WWF Tag belts with his partner Typhoon in fall of 1992 from Money INC. He has the record for fastest win at a Wrestlemania (Adam Bomb in 5 seconds, WM 10). Signed with WCW in 1995, and wrestled as Avalanche in the stable the Dungeon of Doom. He then wrestled as himself John Tenta, then after leaving WCW he returned to the WWF/WWE as Golga of the Oddities. Wrestled his last televised match at Wrestlemania X-7 as a part of the gimmick battle royal. John Tenta passed away on June 7th, 2006 after a long battle with bladder cancer. People always asked him, "What was in Jake the Snake's bag?" It was panty hose stuffed with raw hamburger.
