About Me

I ran a way from home at the age of 12. I stayed in youth hostels wherever I could find them. I was 15 years old and weighed 167 pounds. My first match was against Larry Hennig, who was a former world champion, 35 years old, and weighed about 320. I lost the match in 10 seconds. I got my first break in the old NWA. I won the tag-titles there 5 times with Rick Martel. I beat Ric Flair for the NWA U.S. title. And I defeated Ricky Steamboat for the NWA Mid-Atlantic title.
Then Vince McMahon called me up to the WWWF (later re-named WWF.) I was in the WWF from 1984-1995. There I fued with everyone; Hulk Hogan, Adrian Adonis, Randy Savage, The Undertaker, Andre the Giant, Bret Hart, Jake "the Snake" Roberts. I was only pinned once in my entire WWF career. My "Pipers Pit" program was huge. The most famous moment was probably smashing a coconut over the head of Jimmy "Super Fly" Snuka.
With my star on the rise I descided to leave wrestiling to became a movie star. I was in such top-self films as: They Live! (1988 directed by John Carpenter), Hell Comes To Frogtown (1987), Body Slam ('87), The Highwayman (TV, '87), Buy & Cell ('89), Love Boat: A Valentine Voyage ('90, TV), No Contest ('94), Immortal Combat ('94), Back In Action ('94), Tough and Deadly ('95), Terminal Rush ('95), Marked Man ('95), Jungleground ('95), Sci-fighters ('96).
When I retuned to the WWF I was a bigger star than ever and captured my only WWF title, defeating The Mountie to win the Intercontinental Title.
In 1996 I joined WCW, and countinue to be a thorn in the side of Hulk "Hollywood" Hogan, and decside who the true I.C.O.N. of wrestling was. In the WCW I won the US Heavyweight Title from Bret Hart (who beat me for the IC title back in the wwf, the only man to ever pin me there.)
Since then I have writen my auto-biography In the Pit with Piper: Roddy gets Rowdy. I have appeared at my indy wrestling feds, and well making breif return to the WWF(E).
I'm also not limited to wrestling and movie ventures either. Portland, Oregon is home to Piper's Pit Stop, an automotive transmission repair shop. What do I know about transmissions? Honey, I've stripped a few gears.
