About Me

I am NOT a band. Please don't email me about playing together; that would be the worst show ever.
Instead, contact the bands that I work with. I highly recommend all of them...both as musicians and human beings.
I AM a PR dude. I help independent bands and labels. Here is my fancy motto. Use it to persuade your family that music as a career / lifestyle choice is totally legit...
Beartrap is a DIY promotion and publicity company that's focused on establishing a strong community with the people who are dedicated to making (or supporting) music for the sake of music. In other words, I can assist you with all your press needs; whether it's obtaining reviews / interviews, tour promotion, sending out press releases and news briefs or simply keeping the media updated with your every move, I'm all over it.
More importantly, Beartrap strives to be a forum where people can question conventional ideas. Fostering a tight-knit community of friends and colleagues who continue to challenge the status quo and excite us with their music is my number one priority. I contend that everyone has something special to contribute to this underground, DIY culture; here's your opportunity to share it.
I also have a not-so-fancy motto. By saying it, you won't persuade anyone of anything, but it's waaaay catchier....Beartrap and Bearhugs for Everyone! For more information regarding my credentials, past and future projects and your band or label's general needs, contact:Chuck Daley

My Blog

We're Not Men? Really?

We're Not Men: that's a humbling, acquiescent and strangely passive statement for a band that feels and sounds like it's literally about to erupt or perhaps implode into a million fiery, molten-ho...

Contra Enthusiast Unite!

A bio with the term "verbal masturbation." Worth reading for that alone.

Sometimes, simple is the way to go.  Take this bio. By nature, I'm prone to wordiness&verbal masturbation, if you will.  Give me heaps of flashy verbs and overstated hyperbole -- maybe a das...

Wear Your Helmet

There's something to be said for a band like Street Smart Cyclist: six enthusiastic kids from Bethlehem, a sleepy town nestled in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley, who unabashedly wear their hearts on one...

The Measure is [S]O [A]WESOME

The Measure [SA] are perfectly aware that by releasing the CD version of their debut full-length Historical Fiction on Team Science Records, the [SA] part of their name Strictly Analog sorta loses...

Sir Andrew: Vagabundo de la Puerta

There are a few things that you should know about Andy the Door Bum (AKA Ugly Dobro, AKA Andy Fenstermaker).  First, he only looks like a deranged street vagrant.  He's truly not.  Seco...

The Siblirines...an exclusive interview!

Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover.  Initial inspection of the artwork for the Wolverines and The Sibling Project split CD yields several possible themes:a)  Occasionally, beast-y c...

Ground rules...

Before listening to The Ackleys' newest EP Forget Forget, Derive Derive let's lay down some ground rules...1.  It's quite alright to be impressed with the band's relatively young age in relation ...

What is it about Jena Berlin?

What is it about Jena Berlin?  Sure, on the surface the formula seems simple enough; lay a rock-solid foundation on a rhythm section that twists and writhes with rapid-fire tenacity; create monst...

It's not that Baby Calendar hate being called cute.  In fact, they've come to expect it.  You can't possibly name your latest full-length Gingerbread Dog and not predict some sort of cute ba...
