About Me

"we are mouse fire..."
"...this is undeniably the most refreshing CD I’ve heard for a long time, especially when considering it’s the band’s debut. Strongly recommended." - emotionalpunk.com
"It’s really great to hear bands like Mouse Fire who show so much promise from the start. Wooden Teeth is only the band’s debut album, and still, they obviously got something right, because I’ve yet to play it for anyone who didn’t like it just as much as I do. That alone is quite a feat, because my friends are generally snobs..." - ForTheSound.com
"The full-length album debut from Lakeland indie rock quartet Mouse Fire, Wooden Teeth, has made a believer out of me. This album is an intelligent and thoughtful attempt to add substance to an otherwise uninspired string of indie-rock/pop releases over the last couple of years throughout the genre. Masterfully produced, the sound and theme are coherent and reminiscent of the last Dismemberment Plan album (Change) as well as recent offerings from Spoon and Maritime. The smooth vocals are highlighted, by guitar riffs that are darker than I originally recalled this band being. Wooden Teeth is the type of accomplishment that should garner this band more national attention, because it is that good. That being said, there is still room for improvement, and with their youth and talent central Florida music fans should be excited about having the chance to watch these guys grow and evolve before our eyes." - REAX magazine
“Wooden Teeth” is a polished debut from indie rock emotional band Mouse Fire. Their subtle and airy vocals are superb while their rhythms and harmonies are joined together for a coup de tat of excellent music. Produced by Jeremy Griffith (Small Leaks Sink Ships) and the band, “Wooden Teeth” is surprisingly dense, deep, and infectious. Perfect indie pop-rock for the attention deficit crowd. This is a big thumbs up, can’t miss sort of album! - J-Sin of Smother.net
"An extraordinarily strong debut from Lakeland, Florida's mouse fire. The band sounds something like a cross between Lilys and Starflyer 59...without ever sounding too much like either one. What impresses us most about this album is the fact that the gentlemen in this band have already defined their sound and style...a feat that takes many artists several years to achieve. Super smart arrangements are integral to the band's sound. The instrumental lines are sometimes complex and studied while never sounding overbaked and unnecessarily noodle-ish..." Recommended. (Rating: 5++)" - BabySue.com
While Mouse Fire should be taken seriously for both their content and musical ability, at their best, they sound relaxed, never trying to guide or trick their listeners into an emotional state, but letting them interpret the mood of the song for themselves. - DecoyMusic.com
Musically enchanting in its own right, every one of the twelve tracks contains a sense of musical prowess. Undoubtedly, the talent of these four individuals has been personified over the years. - ScenePointBlank.com
The dancey-experimental elements of Mouse Fire’s tunes reminded me most of Modest Mouse, while the guitar tones achieved are virtual recreations of the ones Fire When Ready blows my mind with. Whether or not this was Mouse Fire’s intent is ultimately irrelevant; Wooden Teeth defends their musical individuality with a willingness to tinker with interspersed experimental elements and ear-catching guitar tones, immaculate production and downright catchy songs. - IndependentClauses.com
"Slick" is so often a derogatory term that implies a style over substance approach is hiding something. Not on Wooden Teeth though. This slickness is a strength. Rather than hiding shortcomings, it enhances everything else that they do right. Mixed with the album's angularity, these hooks aren't the sort that let you know you're being hooked. They come from all sides too. Any layer is easy to get caught up in while another makes its move for attention. The album wraps its smooth and rough sides into a package that is at once more palatable and more satisfying. - TooManyVoice.com
The members of mouse fire are the scruffy, bearded type dude's that you'd want to invite over for a beer and a jam session. Outburn Magazine
Mouse Fire, and their debut LP, Wooden Teeth, are a bit of melodic college rock with a touch of dancefloor groove - part Pinback, part Franz Ferdinand (check out "Feel Good Drag" for proof). It also brings to mind Koufax, Manchester Orchestra or the second-album-era The Killers. If you're tired of the bands everyone already knows about, checkout one that no knows about and be hip - for once. - FeastOfHateAndFear.com
