Well more than anything you should know “ABOUT ME” - I am a CHILD OF GOD! For without God’s love and mercy I would be nothing. My favorite scripture is PHIL 4:13 “I can do all things, through Christ who strengthens me”. I grew up in Washington DC’s LeDroit Park during a time when kids had to come in the house when the street lights came on. My nickname is “Tweet” which pretty much tells you who I am. I’m a singer and avid music lover. I graduated from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts where I studied opera under many talented and gifted coaches. I've been blessed with many opportunities in my life. I have shared the stage with dignitaries such as Former Vice President Al Gore, Colin Powell, Benjamin O. Davis Jr., The Tuskegee Airmen, and Julian Bond. I was also given the honor of singing the National Anthem to an audience of 30,000 at the 1995 annual “Race for the Cure” for Breast Cancer awareness held on the National Mall in Washington, DC. For six years, I was a member of the CCV Ensemble, the host gospel group of a weekly Christian television show. Today, I sing as a soloist and as a member of the Florida Avenue Baptist Church Choir. When I am not singing, I love watching football, going to concerts, shopping for handbags, cooking up new cuisines, and writing. In a former life I wrote an entertainment column for a collegiate magazine. I am a published poet and was recently nominated for the covenant Poet of the Year Award from the International Society of Poets. I currently work in Crime Prevention while completing studies in Criminal Justice. Additionally, I am one of the six founders of “Gerald’s Primary Honey Is Gerald” the fan based sorority for the late Gerald Levert. The sorority has appeared in Sister2Sister Magazine and the founders and I were guests on the Tom Joyner Morning Show following the death of Levert in late 2006. Committed to many social issues, I am a member of the Feed the Children Foundation, the Build a Dream Foundation, and a founding member of the National Campaign of Tolerance. My prayer for you is that God's peace and love surrounds you this day and forever. Feel free to stop by “my space” again and again. You can also visit me at www.tagged.com/robjaye. But whenever you visit just know that I delete all requests and messages with vuglar content. Take care, and be blessed. Love,Robin ..
